This betrayal will forever
Will this graveyard be the dis for
For these corpses
Will they be the first to fall
and dance the night away?

Why do we do this to ourselves?
We're fighting every word they sell

Something apart
Carry our guns
Take a look at what we've become
Concrete nations
Standing in the ashes of our enemies we've made

Why do we do this to ourselves?
We're fighting every word they sell
Why do we do this to ourselves?
We're fighting every word that they sell

So we dance the night away
So we dance the night away
So we dance the night away
So we dance the night away
Night away

Why do we do this to ourselves?
We're fighting every word they sell
Why do we do this to ourselves?
We're fighting every word that they sell

Every word that they sell
Every word that they sell
Every word that they sell

Okay, so there was some big betrayal (war, Iraq, someone?) and now there are large fatalities

Why do we do this to ourselves? We're fighting every word they sell

Someone is trying to help them and they are still not listening...

Something apart Carry our guns Take a look at what we've become Concrete nations Standing in the ashes of our enemies we've made

Now I know there is a war. The countries have hardened and blown up other countries.

Why do we do this to ourselves? We're fighting every word they sell Why do we do this to ourselves? We're fighting every word that they sell

So we dance the night away So we dance the night away So we dance the night away So we dance the night away Night away

This is either metaphorical or something..but I think it means that they should have fun before they die. Wow that sounds dumb.

Why do we do this to ourselves? We're fighting every word they sell Why do we do this to ourselves? We're fighting every word that they sell

Every word that they sell Every word that they sell Every word that they sell

    yeah i dont know..

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Amazing

This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
