[Verse 1:]
It's the perfect time of day
It's the last day of your life
Don't let it drift away
While your heart is still racing
It's the perfect time of day

And you won't feel a thing
And you won't recall anything at all

[Verse 2:]
Close your eyes and take your last breath
Press your head aside, the end is the beginning
Everyone between is so lost, so lost.

Let your colors collide
The time is so right
I keep running behind
But I know your meaning
You love to fall
The perfect time of day

Wooooo it's the perfect time of day
Come on now
It's the perfect time of day
it's the perfect time with you

General CommentOK so I KNOW that he more than likely didnt write this song about vampires...stay with me here, BUT I was reading Breaking Dawn and listenting to music. I was reading the part where Bella turns into a vampire and how she heard and felt everything during the change but didnt make a sound, then about how she felt after she changed and how her death was a beginning and her past life was a foggy memory, as if it happened in a dream. Well This song came on during that part of the book and I was like hmmm this song kind of relates to that moment. Like I said, I am certain that it wasnt written about vampires, but it was a neat coincedence. I also dont think its about suicide, but maybe about that perfect moment when you meeet someone that you connect with, or that first kiss, or that bittersweet goodbye that you know you have to say to go on with life. IDK, just my 2 cents

General CommentI really like this song and i've been trying to figure out it's meaning. I never thought it being about suicide but that's a good point. I see where you're coming from.

General CommentI found in an interview what Howie had to say about this song...it's just about that perfect time of day, to seize an opportunity. Just when you find that perfect moment to make your move, you better take the chance, because you'll never get it back.

General CommentWhile I don't think it's about suicide, because the sound of the song just doesn't seem to mesh with that, I do think it's about doing something radical, something you would only ever think about and not actually do. "While your heart is still racing" Go for it.

General CommentIt's not really about suicide... just about mortality. I agree with TxBxS... since we're all gonna die sometime (hence the "last day of your life" line,) we only have limited chances for opportunities... go for it,

General CommentI agree w/ all who believe it's not about suicide...I think it's about how we have to seize the moment...altho I can see how it could be about being scared of death. How he says, you won't recall anything at all I think that means when you seize the moment everything goes by so fast you can't even stop and look at what's happening...and then when it's done you don't remember a thing expect it was great. Who knows tho....

    how rocks :o)

General CommentEveryone who likes this song should listen to Better Than Ezra's 'Desperatly Wanting' and 'Long Lost'. One could say they have similar things. . and they should. . Kevin of BTE helped Howie write 'Perfect Time of Day'. . and 'Collide'

General CommentTo me, its about being at you're lover/partner/husband/wife's side as they take their last breath...whether it be losing a battle with cancer, AIDS, or whatever illness they have suffered from for so long, and you're letting them know that you still love them and that everything will be ok
