This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Every time you think of me like your godamn trophy
It just pushes me away
Pushes me
I never said I’d make you mine
Why do you insist on pushing all the time
I know it’s not my vivid imagination
Telling you lies
Telling you lies
It’s funny how you found the time
To expose yourself and be another one of these
Psychos all around me
Psychos all around me
Like to say my head’s not right
My head’s not right
Medicated aren’t we all
Turning into you
Got me crazed with what you do
Inside my head there’s a vision of you
And nothing’s changing
Nothing’s changing
I want to run away
And you say it’s alright
I want to run away
Walk away
Just go
I think you’re pushing, pushing me
To seek and discover to notice you’re different than all the rest
Keeps telling me to ask why
Would it really hurt you to leave me alone sometimes
To seek and discover your genius uncovered
Your pain
Nothing’s changing
Nothing’s changing
Medicated aren’t we all
Turn me into you
Got me crazed with what you do
Inside my head there’s a vision of you
And nothing’s changing
Nothing’s changing
I want to run away
And you say it’s alright
I want to run away
Pushing me away
Pushing me away
Pushing me away
Pushing me, pushing me
Pushing me
Medicated aren’t we all
Turning into you
Got me crazed with what you do
Inside my head there’s a vision of you
And nothing’s changing
Medicate it are we’re all
Turn me into you
Got me crazed with what you do
You do
Inside my head there’s a vision of you
And nothing’s changing
Nothing’s changing
Nothing’s changing
Maybe it’s not me
It’s all inside my head
Maybe it’s not me
It’s all inside my head
And nothing’s changing
It’s all inside my head
And nothing’s changing
It’s all inside my head

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
Magical
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
'Raging boner'? I think there's way more too it than that, what with the "nothing changing".
And that would mean the other person wants to appear as though they are trying to cope with themselves & their problems, but the person won't let himself be convinced
"Medicated aren't we all"--We've all got our addictions, and the other person is his (and hers(?) is...?). Looks like he's going through withdrawals because...
I think it's someone he hardly ever gets to see and only hears about or talks but still cares for, because why would you need to be concerned with visions of someone when they are constantly in plain view? I guess it could be about a long-distance relationship (which have a good chance of not working out)...
Also the last 'medicated' verse, "medicated are we're all" appears that way in the booklet IIRC. Screwy, I know, lol.
