it's funny how we used to laugh at loud
and how easily we've forgotten who we were.
when the good die young, there was nothing i could do
until that day two desperate hearts were forced to face their fears.

there is no fate but what we make for ourselves
and this day was ours.

so i grabbed her by the hand, looked deep into the eyes and said we're gonna go away for a while
and we never looked back, we knew we had to take this chance, and we ran into the end of the world.

it's funny how we used to laugh out loud
between the headlines and the news reports, no one will ever understand
why we had to sacrifice our dreams just to save us both.

so we stand at the edge of our existance's end and watch the world come crumbling down.
and if we stick together, we'll be forever together and all will be right in this town.

Songs can have many meanings. The main one of this is that life is short, take chances. Maybe you could interpret it as a guy works up the courage to ask out a girl and they end up getting married. either marriage or end up dying together. Great Song either way. Wester is extremely talented and deserve all the future success.

With the quotes from the Terminator movies it feels like it could almost be on the soundtrack... it especially seems to relate to the 3rd movie if you've seen it.

I think its about love.. sacrificing everything just to be together.. Romeo and Juliet scenario? i dunno.. but just from the chorus thats what i get.. at the end.. he speaks.. he says: imagine if you knew you were going to do something important with you're life, something amazing, it may be THE most important thing anyone has ever done, but theres a catch.. something terrible has to happen.. i think they're talking about risks.. taking risks in life..

Personally, I like the overall imagery of the song.

Well, obviously, I guess the quotes give away the meaning of the song itself so there's not much to say.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
