The New Romance Lyrics
It started in our basement
It started in our bedroom
Got it in the basement
Got it in the bedroom
Got it in the garage
Got it in on the rooftop
Burns the fire inside my head
It's revealing, fascinating
We got it, we set the motion
Now we have it in our hands
We're selfish with the new romance
What's ours is ours, and ours is secret
There's no point in explanation
If you don't know, then you won't know
Restless, fed up tough and clever
Wishing this would last forever
Is futile when, you know it won't
It started in our bedroom
Got it in the basement
Got it in the bedroom
Got it in the garage
Got it in on the rooftop
Burns the fire inside my head
We got it, we set the motion
Now we have it in our hands
We're selfish with the new romance
What's ours is ours, and ours is secret
There's no point in explanation
If you don't know, then you won't know
Wishing this would last forever
Is futile when, you know it won't

I'm proud to be the first to comment on this song. I think its about a new relationship. The two people have a strong attraction to each other and they're having a good time. They dont feel the need to explain it to anyone else, because they cant explain it really. They wish it will last forever, but they know that never happens. So they're just gonna have fun while they can.

it seems like a really adolescent passionate relationship where the two people only seem to rely on eachother...they become overly absorbed in themselves and dont think anyone could understand...she wishes that it could always stay fresh and new like this but she knows it never could
