Are you gonna die with that music inside
Did you catch the twilight on your way into work
You can live anything you can think
Man I'm not lying to you and yeah that's a threat
I don't want to have to bury you like this
Something's gotta get your attention
If I have to crack open your skull with my fist
I'll let the light and the sound escape

Listen now
You can hear the sound
Surrender and let the light come out
Don't be afraid
Let me hear your voice
What you will live is what you make

I know you've worked hard your whole life
And now your tired the money is never enough
It's never gonna be enough man that's not even the point
The only thing you can't afford is to keep buying the lines your fed
I know it's comfortable to go back to sleep
Take a look at what you've been lying in
Before you wake up in search of your paycheck death
The demons of regret are making your deathbed

Listen now
You can hear the sound
Surrender and let the light come out
Don't be afraid
Let me hear your voice
What you will live is what you make
Don't be afraid
Let me hear your voice
Let the light come out
Cause I'm ready now
Like I never was before
To see what this is all about

what an awesome song. it almost sounds like hes proposing in this song because hes telling someone there is something incredible inside them (the light and sound) and he says

'cause I'm ready now like I never was before to see what this is all about'

it sounds like theyre getting married

i think that the song is about somebody who's made one too many bad decisions in life. in this case, rocky is trying to take him out of whatever mess the guy has gotten himself into.

"I don't want to have to bury you like this something's gotta get your attention if I have to crack open your skull with my fist I'll let the light and the sound escape"

"bury you like this" meaning he doesn't want to have to see this guy go the way he is, and the rest of the verse is self explanitory --- getting his attention to help him get out.

and what finally does it from my p.o.v. is

"the only thing you can't afford is to keep buying the lines you're fed"

this verse is talking about the guy being broke all the time and there's why --- he's doing lines.

"the demons of regret are making your deathbed"

that is pretty powerful in itself, stating that this guy has so much guilt and regret in his life that its literally killing him.

all in all -- the "light and sound" is the guy coming out of his mess --- or so i think?

this song isn't about some sort of big mess someone's gotten them self into. it's about some mess that they were born into!

the monotonous life of 'success' working and working and working, as if working is the only thing you are born to do.

there's so much more life to be lived, and so much potential wrapped up inside of every single person. and we have to work, we have to - but work CAN NOT be our lives. it's a message to those who are living a mediocre, planned-out life with no spontaneity and no adventure! it's a message to those who lie asleep : wake up! WAKE UP! look at what surrounds you, and look what is just a revelation away! Wake up and come over here!!!

the light and sound all trapped up inside of this person is being wasted, because they are working their life away for profits that they will only see a small portion of.

wake up, Wake Up, WAKE UP!!

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
