When I'm in a crowd
Or on an island by myself
Silent or too loud
Wishing I was somewhere else
And I can't believe
You hit me fast and hard
When you turned to me and say
Never change the way you are

Trying to catch your eye
Things will never look the same
Now I can't deny
You're the moth and I'm the flame
There I go again
I should walk before I run
How can I explain
I can't stop what you've begun

I'm falling through the door
Flying 'cross the floor
When you look at me suddenly it's clear
You're burning up my dreams
Crazy as it seems
I don't want to be anywhere but here
Anywhere but here

What goes on inside
Is a mystery no doubt
Roller coaster ride
I may never work it out
Here's the brand new me
Skates around and floats on air
I'm a sight to see
Rainbow colors in my hair
You have set me free
The one who gets me there

I'm falling through the door
Flying 'cross the floor
When you look at me suddenly it's clear
You're burning up my dreams
Crazy as it seems
I don't want to be anywhere but here
Anywhere but here

Here is the place where
My head is spinning
Time is beginning to race away
You come to throw me
Knock me off my feet
You give me wings to fly
The world goes crashing by again

I'm falling through the door
Flying 'cross the floor
When you look at me suddenly it's clear
You're burning up my dreams
Crazy as it seems
I don't want to be anywhere but here
Anywhere but here

I'm falling through the door
Flying 'cross the floor
When you look at me suddenly it's clear
You're burning up my dreams
Crazy as it seems
I don't want to be anywhere but here

I'm falling through the door
(Suddenly it's clear) flying 'cross the floor
Anywhere but here

Whyy do the haters come look at her lyrics anyways? Hahah. That's pathetic. I think the lyrics are actually pretty good. I'd like to see you write something better.

Anyways, I think it's a cute song, that's clearly about love.

I like Hilary Duff. not overly, but she's pretty good... Or atleast I think she is. I don't think 'Im falling through the door Flying cross the floor' is a stupid line. Sure, you might get a strange image in your head but it gives me the impression of someone being very attracted to someone else, like they can't wait to see them.

On the other hand, My interpretation of this song is this girl/guy wants to get out and have their own life (away from their family and hometown most likely) and like move somewhere, but then she/he meets this guy/girl and all that changes. Their dreams suddenly seem to "burn up" so to speak and they don't want to be anywhere else if it's without them, so this said person realizes that they don't need to leave to feel free because they already feel free with that person.

    Or something like that lol

I agree with star_crash*, but only difference is that i LOVE hilary duff songs, she's my favourite singer. yeah, i think it's something like she likes where she is until she see's a guy, and he 'burns up her dreams' to stay where she is or something. it's actually a hard song to interpret, like, it's a hard song to explain, like, i know what i think it's about, but i can't, like, type it, if you know what i mean :S

    Song Meaning

To me the song kinda seems like a cute crush song. Like she likes a guy but he is exactly right for her. Yet she cares bout him too much to leave. And while liking him she finds herself.

It's about an abusive relationship. Listen closely to some of the lyrics. It's about a girl who has adapted to getting hit by her boyfriend, yet still has an obsession over him.

"Here's the brand new me, skates around and floats on air" referring to being thrown around while being beaten. "I'm a sight to see, rainbow colors in my hair" is referring to a head concussion and blood dribbling through her hair.

Well, I think this song is plain retarded. The line 'Im falling through the door Flying cross the floor' is just stupid. I mean, thats what some people would like to see her do, because they hate her. I admit, I dont hate her, but I'm not crazy about her.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
