Can you understand my meaning hidden in the roses around my eyes
I want you to know how much it means to have you in my life
Your love brings me close again in this instance when our worlds collide
The wire of eternity twists around us
I can feel this river rising, moving up my back
Some things never change
Some things never go away
I could never forget you
And I will never be the same

this song isn't about God, it's a love song plain and simple.

To me this song is about falling in love with someone. Time to disect the song=D

Line 1: -----To me in this line he is trying to ask the person if they really can see how much he loves them underneath everything else. Roses can be used to descirbe the false beauty of something. That false beauty is just in his eyes though because i doesn't know how the other person feels about him so and he still has all the insecurities and he wonders of they know he has them as well.

    Line 2 needs none

Line 3: -----This just means to him it feels like they are meant to be forever

Line 4: -----The river rising is meant by the feeling of water going up ones back. This is used to describe the feeling of love and the feeling of it engulfying you.

Remaining lines also need no explanation

It is a love song to God man. When you truely have that relationship with christ you love him with all your heart more then anything else in life.

"i can feel this river rising, moving up my back "

That line describes to me the feeling of God's love and the holy spirit entering his life. It is an experience like no other.

this is about god, and "Jean Genie" i always thought the "roses around my eyes" line meant someone was crying the thing about AILD is some of there songs are like love songs but they are really about god

Byfar one of the best AILD songs, but seriously what does it matter if its about God or a acutal relationship?? It means something differnt to everyone.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
