This song is about Cristian's relationship with his father he never got to meet his father and this is why he talks about him in other songs such as unframed. You can see this because they are both musicians and the lyrics tell us how he feels about his father...how alike they are and stuff...

This song is definitely about Cristian's father, and how even though he never met him, he sees things in himself that are just like his father. Not positive things either, how can I live without you isn't a longing for him, it's saying I can't get rid of these aspects of my personality that I hate, that I got from you (his father).

this song is about a guy that wishes he still had the love of his life and he misses her so much this song has helped me thru one of the hardest break ups i ever head i thoguth about this girl day and night and i heard this song and brought back all the good memories we had and i love it

Yeah, this song is about Cristian's dad. The first time I heard it I thought it was about an ex-girlfriend. But I really got the meaning when I heard the Spanish version.

maybe it is about Cristian's father, but all I think about whilst listening to this song is a girl that i really like...

freedom liver, i felt the same way when i heard this song. at the time i was devasted by a girl i loved. and the one part just grabbed me and hung onto me:

I was living across the country at the time and that's all i wanted to know is if she still loved me or "Dreamed of me" truly an amazing song.

i've also felt the part of the son/father relationship of this song. "You made me what i am. But who the hell am i?"

I think we can all agree that this song can be personally interpreted to be about a girl or a father/son relationship.

I think this song can go one of two ways. It is either about a guy who is professing his love for someone, without whom he cannot live. Or it is about a guy who is haunted by the memories of a past lover who broke his heart and all the thoughts of the past relationship won't leave his mind. He wonders how he can live without having to think about his former lover all the time.
