Pistola Lyrics

On the tip of my tongue an offence, it is poised and rearing
My intention a bullet, my body a trigger finger

Yeah, my pen is a pistola
I don't need to fear, fear you
Yeah, my pen is a pistola

My secret arsenal is an infinite ageless ink well
It's a fountain of youth and a patriot's weapon of choice

Yeah, my pen is a pistola
I don't need to fear, fear you
Yeah, my pen is a pistola

On the tip of my tongue an offence, it is poised and rearing
My intention a bullet, my body a trigger finger

Yeah, my pen is a pistola
I don't need to fear, fear you
Yeah, my pen is a pistola

I think it is about free speech and censorship. I have never really heard about Incubus running into serious censorship issues but as artists they surely must know and deal with it. The album is pretty political so it could also be about the current erosion of civil liberties and rigths, particularly the right to diseent agaistn the government. Awesome analogy

This is about fighting tyrants like George Bush. Brandon is clearly pro-peace. I must say I was never to big of an Incubus fan, but their last album was incredible. They always seemed to corporate to me, but with their newfound willingness to take on George Bush and support peace label me a big Incubus fan baby!

lol of course dirk comes up again! hehe i think that this song is pretty straight forward. He could fight someone with words and his song. His pen is his weapon. I also think that the political aspect of this has to do with it like some people mentioned. How they are cracking down on music censorship although Incubus really doesnt have much of a problem with that, they are probab;y speakin for all artists in general in this song. PS- Saw them last night in concert.. it WOULD have been marvelous if not for the screaming teeny boppers behind me that ruined my Buzz... AHHH it was a total heartbreaker.. A) because there were 13 year old girls behind me screaming "I love you bla bla" and B) because they knocked the high outta me!!
