"new girl" as written by and John Roderick....
American Schools called you Starlight
In fourteen point type
Twenettww x 10 and then
Your most brutful smile
You were looted
You opened wide
Gave props to the knives
Props to the cheating wives

Be kind to the new girl

You erased so many mistakes
By sitting up and smiling
Your solo show
I hope it never closes
It was the ride of my life
Twice you burned you lifes work
Once to start a new life
And once just to start a fire

Be kind to the new girl
Uh, no, you are
Be kind to the new girl

General CommentBasically seems to be John heaping praise upon a girl he's recently befriended. I'm not really sure, but I know that it makes me very happy.

Anyone know what the "No, you are" bit is about? Or the rest of it for that matter.

I love that lineee. This song is really cool, its like hes met someone he really respects and hes just singing her praises for what shes done with her life. Its like shes sucessful without being wraped up in it all.

    no, you are

That ending bit reminds me of a, "No, I love you more...no, I love YOU more," conversation had by a boyfriend and girlfriend, but I could be completely off.
