Sea King Lyrics

At the bottom of the ocean lives a sea king, he was my king.
He was so proud, diamonds in his crown.
He was so proud, always so proud.

I'm going away, I can't stay and I pray he finds out someday...

Sea King, Sea king, can't you see that you're so silly?
Sea King, I know things, and without love you won't get far.

In aquatic towns below us, there reigns a Sea King, he was my king.
Gold and glitter (-was-) bubbling all around him, all around him, pearls in his hands.

I'm going away, I can't stay and I pray he finds out someday...

Sea King, Sea king, can't you see that you're so silly?
Sea King, I know things, and without love you won't get far.

It was all he ever knew
(-all he ever knew-) and that's sad.

Sea King, Sea king, can't you see that you're so silly?
Sea King, I know things, and without love you won't get far.

I think that this song speaks about materialism and how much we value it and how ridiculous it is. There is so much more to life than "things". Eisley will go BIG soon.

I agree with it being about materialism. Probably about a guy she likes from afar but is so materialistic, and wishes he would just get over it and realize that he could experience something much better: love.

the begining lines of the song remind me of the childrens story about the king that get's new clothes but he's really naked. and since everyone says it looks nice he is carried away.

Is it any coincidence that Sea King sounds exactly like the word seeking?

Cover art for Sea King lyrics by Eisley

To me it sounds like they are singing about leaving the Devil behind and going on to better things. Besides that, I hear this melody in the song at the beginning and how they are raising their voice up and down and it reminds me of some song I heard long ago and I can't place it. Can anyone help me?

sea king=seeking yeah i'm thinking they did that on purpose.

this song reminds me of the little mermaid.

Whenever I hear this song, I always picture the Sea King as a sort of 1950s surfer bum that's the Big Kahuna of his circle. He's so caught up in being King of the Sea and his little accomplishments that he never does much else. I think the singer is someone who truly loves him but can't stand being a vagrant anymore, wanting a real life and real love. So she leaves the ocean scene, hoping one day he'll realize she's gone and leave to look for her (and find reality along the way).

...Or maybe she's in love with a mermaid?
