In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Damn this
We'll be heard anyway!
Middle finger is the flag that I wave when I'm silenced.
(Listen here)
Is it a possibility,
That we're all just equal?
Slap the power down
(Abusing)
Oh doesn't it piss you off,
To be beaten at your own game?
You lead us with false morals
And shelter reality!
(No more)
We're not buying your product but you sell it to us preaching silence!
Insult me in my home
Where you were never invited
To live life on your curb
(Frustrating)
Throw sticks into the spokes
To relieve insecurities
Stifle all dissention
And sticker our freedom of speech!
(So wrong)

Don't tell me what I want
Don't tell me what I need
Don't tell me how I need to feel
I feel
Goddamn nothing!
Through the eyesores on my face
I can still see right fucking through you
Fuck you and everything you are
I feel were all still mental.
Closed eyes while you fucking criticize
keep your policy
and try to exploit me
Fabricate your lies
We have burned these ghosts just to bleed out in silence!
(Listen here)
Stand on my soapbox
And speak my own piece
Whatever you may think
(It's real)
to go through what is me
And step on your beliefs
Need these bodies to sell us
Robbing our integrity!
(Bring it on)

"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
I think this song is basically about censorship and how much it fucking blows!!
This song is freaking awesome and is definately about censorship.
The song is called "Silenced", you dumb fucking idiot, not Silence.
Whoa there buddy...calm down, it was a little mistake...you need to take a pill. They were off by one letter.
PS. I fucking love this song! Great intro to the album.
this song is defintley about censorship and how, jus because certain people think this is wrong, its wrong for everyone. like cuss words, they are completly pointless, they are just words used to express anger, pain. etc. what is so bad about expressing yourself with certain words? this is also about how, even though all this censorship exists, people are still going to find out, might as well find ot now and get smart for it, that way you are prepared for when u are thrown into a situation where u must use cuss words or something.
I agree that it is about cencership, but I also think it's about the media in general. For example the lines:
"We're not buying your product but you sell it to us preaching silence! Insult me in my home Where you were never invited "
to me seem to be about advertising.
"I feel Goddamn nothing! Through the eyesores on my face I can still see right fucking through you Fuck you and everything you are I feel we're all still mental."
Best part of the song!

That I think is the best part of the song. Other than that, MudvayneChick I think you definitely nailed it right on.
