I just discovered this song, and it rocks. I love the way it focus' on Rivers voice (which is at its best here.) It's somehow angry, sad, and happy at the same time.

I think it's clever the way he says "lying with you", as in they are lying in the snow, but also that they are lying to the guy whose girlfriend is cheating on him. Anyway, very nice song, pretty damn obvious meaning.

I'm not quite sure how we each take it but that Rivers Cuomo dedicates it to his love for soccer stemming from a desire to be closer to his father which culminates into a celebrity soccer match.
