The Boy's Gone Lyrics
The boy's gone, the boy's gone home
What will happen to the origins of sound after all the sounds have sounded?
Well I hope I never have to see that day, but by god I know it's headed our way
So I better be happy now that the boy's gone home
The boy's gone home
And who will sum up the phrase for all left standing around in it?
We'll walk it alone, stand up tall, then march to the fall
And we better be happy now that we'll all go home
Yeah we'll all go home
Just be happy that you made it this far
Go on be happy now
Please be happy now
Alright I say that this
This is something else
But when it's all over is it heaven or is it hell
See I better be happy now that no one can tell, said nobody knows
I'm gonna be happy with the way that I am
I'm gonna be happy with all that I stand for
And I'm gonna be happy now 'cause the boy's going home
The boy's gone home

i think it means the rapture of christ... when god comes down to earth to take the christians back up with him.

this is the first one for the contest...

this is actually a fun and too easy contest. the cheaters shall win! ha.

this song reminds me of myself a lot. i don't really think it's about christ, thought i could see how someone might get that idea. to me it represents letting go of trying be something you're not and just realizing everything in your life happens for a reason and that you should just be yourself. it seems so simple but it's the hardest thing for most people to accomplish in their lives.

"Be so happy with the way you are, Be so happy that you made it this far." Best lyrics of his songs!

Odd-number, No offense, dude, I think you've been reading too much of your Left Behind series....

I wont say Im a big fan of Jason because I have not heard anything other then the Waiting For My Rocket album. However, I can say that I have always loved that CD. Recently, I played "You and I Both" for a hardcore christian friend, and the results were astonishing. She interpreted it completely different than I. Being not christian at all, I went back, listened to the CD, and found that there were many times where the lyrics could be talking about god or jesus. Is there anyone out there that is more familiar with Jason, and can tell me his views on the subject? Like in this song, many times when is sounds like he is talking about God, it isn't in a way that necessarily shows his adherence to the faith.

hmm...Hungry Hipp...i think that you're partially right. i do think that this song is about spirituality, not religion. It's about being a good person. I think the view point is: if you do good things and you are yourself- whatever our eternity is destined to be (he even says in the song- nobody knows, and no one can tell.) things will work out for you. If you ever listen to the song halfway home, i do think that it is about God. But most of his songs are about love and his relationships with people in general.

I think the song is about dying (reflecting on death), and how everyone will eventually and when you do you do it alone. I think someone died and it caused him to think about how he lives his life and he is encouraging people to live well and appriciate life. He probably believes in God and being a good person, but that doesn't mean he's really religious. I've never heard him speak about it and he's a pretty open guy, so if his faith or religion was an important part of his life I think he would talk about. I see him more believing that he should be a good person.

Or it could be the end of a relationship.....? Gerneric I know, but hey.
