"Palm Reader" as written by Anthony J. Fredianelli and Stephan Jenkins....
Just give me a call when you feel better
But you never do and I'm just another debtor to some palm reader
Whose got her hands mixed up
Palm readers breath smells of brandy and cigarettes
As she sells me sweet forgets, she needs something to get her through,
She runs a scam like me and you, yeah me and you
Freud said that love was a good psychosis, but I don't know I've had too many doses
He's a creep and we all know he probably made it up

Believe in me and this lie
Tell me everything will be alright
Cause it's so good to believe
But don't turn my hope into a weapon

I kept your sweater till the scent was gone wrapped up in my hands when the days were long
But I'm still sniffing I walk alone in the concrete with the living
Where pigeons fly till they gather round the fallen ones,
They don't know why neither do I

There's no one to trust except maybe the two of us
But that's in the past the place where I'm living haunting my broken dreams
I read horoscopes in magazines expecially yours in the sign of the Leo,
The regal one but man you let your claws show oh it's so slow,
When will they let me go

General CommentThis is my favorite song from the new cd.

    "Just give me a call
    When you feel better
    But you never do
    And I'm just another debtor
    To some palm reader
Who's got all her hands mixed up "

It captures so well that hopeless longing that things are going to work out someday with that person when in the back of your mind you just know it won't, but they just keep you hanging on.

    I love this song.

General Comment"you turn my hope into a weapon" that's my favorite line. i think it sums up the song perfectly...those relationships that you want to work out so bad, but really you know it just isn't meant to be

General CommentInCuBuS you are right, no one realizes how amazing is this song! definitely is one of my favorites. Stephan is like the best songwriter ever, I love this song! I think that this song has many meanings; like caring for a person, hoping him/her to call you "just give me a call when you feel better"... but maybe these person does not care that much for you "but you never do".
I love the line of "Freud said that love was a good psychosis, but I don't know I've had to many doses" I think it means that love can heal us sometimes and end with the monotony of our lifes, but he (stephan) is like trying to see it in a way, that he had been hurted many times that he is just sick of it.
The chorus is like saying; "You can count on me, I'll be here for you! But please don't lie to me, don't end with my hopes."
The sweetest line is "I kept your sweater till the scent was gone, wrapped up in my hands when the days were long" is like when you love someone so much and you've got his/her sweater you could smell it for hours, and it comes a time that you had smelled it so much, that there is no scent left to smell.
I LOVE this song! I think my ideas are kind of complex, but that's what I think it means and I just got to say that 3EB ROCKS!

General Commenti think that the line that says "will mend you like your blouse so" is "but man you let your claws show" or at least that's what i always say.

General CommentUm yeah//.. so the lyrics are kinda messed up... the only important correction would be "Where pigeons fly till they gather round the fallen ones" i dont know how you got what " and did you stop, to gather round the fallen ones".. BUT ANYWAYS.. i love this song . it symbolizes a relationship that died out, but one person is still holding on. He knows that its hopeless to continue to care for her but he will cling to her any way he can. FOR EXAMPLE:

" i kept your sweater, til the scent was gone,
WRAPPED up in my hands when the days were long,
    but im still sniffing......."
Even though he knows the scent is gone (relationship) he continues to smell it hoping for some sort of connection with her. (he doesnt want to accept that its over)

"Cause it's so good to believe
But you turn my hope into a weapon" - when he says this i think he'd referring to how he will never give up and how he knows he's chasing something thats over... but he'd still rather be sold "sweet forgets" and find comfort in horoscopes, hoping to find some justification or confensation for the loss of a relationship.

General CommentI just wanted to point out to, those who havn't noticed, that this is a Brave New World allusion:

    Freud said that love
    Was a good psychosis
    But I don't know
    I've had too many doses
    He's a creep
    And we all know that
    He probably made it up

General CommentWell, I glued it particularly to bnw, but it could also simply be freudian stuff, he did lots . . . like a fox.
