On the way to grey
I could hardly wait
To see you again
To feel your hands

Covering me
Til the storm is done
What seemed to be the end
Was not the end at all

When I hear the rain
Should I be afraid
For my, for my
For my... life

Why do you look at me that way?
I told you
That I was too busy to see you
I would never
Keep a secret from you
From you
From you

Is it over?
I am fine
Thank you dearly
For your time

I'll be leaving
Don't you cry
I'll be back soon
At least I'll try

Can't you see
There is no time to think
Selfishly

Yesterday's gone
Tomorrow's here
Can't turn back now
I won't quit

I still love you
I swear
I always will

this is a great song over all the best of the album, and possibly the band, im not sure if many of you are aware there is 2 versions of the song, not that they really differ just one is the album version, and the other is slower, like 8 minutes i believe. over all great song from a great band.

the ending from the EP demo is better...but overall the mastered version from The Weaks End is good as well.....but the reason i like the other one is cause the ending reminds me of Pink Floyd it's just so mellow and trippy and good

i think that was metaphorically speaking . it sounds like a realationship put on hold to take care of buisness .

the ending is very nice . it makes me feel lost .

this song is absolutely beautiful. it is driving with a rather listless and serene undertone. as if he's at peace with being desperate. it's so hard to try to explain the meaning because it is so relaxed and random... like a dream.

Here's my interpretation of the song, because I have been in a similar situation I think it fits: He is with a girl who he depends on utterly, but he has to take care of things in his life... meanwhile she thinks he doesn't love her, he fights this ("I told you I was too busy to see you, I would never keep a secret from you") but only half-heartedly, not enough to convince her, so she breaks up with him. He is resigned, tired, and too withdrawn to fight it, so he closes up inside and lets her go... and his new secret is that he doesn't want it to end at all, he loves her to death and needs her.

At one of their concerts, i remember them saying this song meant alot to them because it was about their relationship with God.

This sounds like a Staind song... take that how you want to. Disappointment, but other than this one, I really like this band. Sure sounds like he's talking about God. Are they a Christian band?

this song is about a relationship that is very hard and they both thought they were over and done... but their love keep eachother together. like these lyrics "what seemed to be the end was not the end at all. "

I believe this song to be a love song about two people who are deeply in love, and they are goin through some rough times (the storm) and they must rely on thier love to get them through..he is saying not to cry he will be back soon, and he will love her always. they thought they were through, but it was not the end at all....only the beggining if they hold on.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
