River of life on a human journey
Don't be afraid of becoming the sea
Don't worry yourself
Don't worry yourself
Don't worry yourself
Don't worry yourself
Many stories will be left untold
But understand everything must go
We don't want no one hunting don't make a sound
Oh living is a journey waking, believing, running
For shelter now
Slow slow lover rub you down
We don't want no one hunting don't make a sound
Oh living is a journey waking, believing, running
There's people that need you and you leeting down
And when it's time to care you just leave town
Don't worry yourself
Don't worry yourself
Don't worry yourself
Don't worry yourself
There's some wildness there and mercy
It's the emptiness we love touching
We don't want no one hunting don't make a sound
Oh living is a journey waking, believing, running
For shelter now
Slow slow lover rub you down
We don't want no one hunting don't make a sound
Oh living is a journey waking, believing, running
Humble people not ashamed nor proud
And alway's try to keep your feet on the ground
And love yourself
We don't want no one hunting don't make a sound
Oh living is a journey waking, believing, running
For shelter now
Slow slow lover rub you down
We don't want no one hunting don't make a sound
Oh living is a journey waking, believing, running

This has been my favorite 311 song for years - no matter where I'm at or what's going on in my life I can turn this song on and feel good about the day. This song is so underappreciated!

The guitars in this song are pure bliss. This song is so positive!

it's an awesome song to chill out to. the lyric "don't be afraid of becoming the sea, don't worry yourself...understand everything must go" sums up the song fairly well, at least it captures the tone/aura perfectly.
311 usually crafts quite a song complete with outer-worldy effects and lazy, drifting guitars as well as hard, driving guitars, bass, and drums. kudos to the fellas for this number.

Yeah, I agree, it is def. one of the better but underappreciated songs off of Transistor. It puts my mind at ease, especially near the end of the song when it goes from hard to flowing music with that airy guitar again and some crucial drum fills. It's too bad they decided not to make it a double album and cut 8 tracks off of the original song list.

this is probably my favorite song off transistor. i used to put the cd on in the morning while getting ready for school, and it made me feel better about the coming day, which i always dreaded.

This is one of the more lyrically meaningful songs on the CD. A great pick-me-up for someone who is down.

i agree with the grey fool.. haha that sounds funny. i also think it’s about taking notice of the things around you during the journey down the river of life (“don’t hurry yourself” which I think is the actual wording during the second verse)… like how you would notice the nice things if you took a journey down a river or if you were running… which I always related to because I used to run a lot and running was very calming like this song.

I love this song, I have never heard something so beautifully written in a genre of music like this. It speaks to my soul and It just makes everything ok. It might sound gay, but as much as I talk about 311 there is a reason. Allot of music is empty and doesnt speak on things that better a persons life. 311 promotes positivity and unity, something that this world needs more of. I dont know nick s.a. p-nut tim or chad but I am connected to them through their music. The music they give I will always love. it makes me feel alive and makes the worst days bright. I cant express the level of joy 5 guys i dont even know bring to me, but I will always love them for it.
