Ready
Darkness cover me

I'm not ready to die, girl
Because of what you don't tell me
I'm not ready to walk inside of where you're taking me
I'm not ready to die, girl
Because of what you don't tell me
I'm not willing to compromise the man I want to be

Think you're a little bit closer
To changing me
You're never winning me over
You're wasting time

Leave me be

I'm not ready to die, girl
Because of what you don't tell me
I'm never going to tow the line of your conformity
I'm not ready to die, girl
Because of what you don't tell me
I'm not ready to leave the realm of anonymity

Think you're a little bit closer
To changing me
You're never winning me over
You're wasting time

Get away from me

Think you're a little bit closer
To changing me
You're never winning me over
You're wasting time

General CommentI agree with SFDisturbed... This song seems to be about a girlfriend/mistress/wife that is trying to change him and/or control him. The name bound probably stands for him being bound to her,"think your a little bit closer to changing me" shows it right there, and like he says "you wasting time-Leave me be".

According to David, this song describes the new tragedy of our lives, that even if we find love, the life we have chosen does not seem to want to let us keep it."

General Commentthis songs pretty good, I love davids voice in this song. so anyways, not that deep a meaning; its about some girl who tries to change the singer, in an attempt to make him more like everyone else, but he'd rather stay away from everyone else, stay anonymous ("im not ready to leave the realm of anonymity"), and not become a mindless conformist.

General CommentI Agree, I believe it's about standing up for your self and not letting yourself be controlled in a relationship and allow yourself to be "changed" into who they want you to be, about not letting anyone influence you period and that you should be your own man/woman "Think your a little bit closer to changing me you're never winning me over you're wasting time....oh, Let me be!"

and "Oooo, I'm not ready to die girl because of what you don't tell me...I'm never going to tow the line of your conformity...oooh I'm not ready to die girl because of what you don't tell me i'm not readyto leave the realm of anonymity"

General CommentWhen he says "I'm not ready to die" what he means by that is he's not ready to let who he is die. He won't let anyone change who he is.

General CommentCoinciding with the name of the album from which this song came: this song is all about believing in yourself, and not letting anyone change the essence of who you are.

Song MeaningLike many of the songs in this album, the story is taken from the Bible. Hence the name 'Believe'

'Prayer', the first track on this album is about the story of Job who is endlessly tortured by the devil.

This song is recounting the story of Samson and Delilah from the book of Judges.

Samson, who was a man of god, was blessed with incredible strength. When he falls in love with a prostitute named Delilah, his enemies pay her to discover the secret of his strength so they may kill him.

Samsons pact with God was that he not cut his hair. But when he reveals this to his lover, she has his hair cut in his sleep.

The lyrics cover the point in the story where Delilah is persistently trying to compromise Samson by revealing his secret.

This song is relatable to many people in toxic relationships, but ultimately was inspiried by this story.

Song MeaningAs for the songs meaning, vocalist 'David Draiman' says it's spoken in the context of a relationship, but not limited exclusively to that experience. That there is no point in trying to change who we are, because we are at peace with all of it.

General CommentBecause you can hear the song on Disturbed's website if you have a copy of The Sickness. Then someone listens to it and copies the lyrics. Simple as that.
