I Don't Care Anymore Lyrics
Drag my name all over the place
I don't care anymore
You can tell everybody 'bout the state I'm in
You won't catch me crying 'cause I just can't win
I don't care anymore, I don't care anymore
I don't play the same games you play
And it seems to me there's a means to and end
They don't care anymore
And as for me I can sit here and bide my time
I got nothing to lose if I speak my mind
I don't care anymore, I don't care no more
We never played by the same rules anyway
Get out of my way
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don't care anymore, I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore, I don't care anymore
'Cause every day I'm feeling fine with myself
And I don't care now what you say
Hey, I'll do alright by myself
'Cause I know
And you laughed in my face 'cause you held all the cards
I don't care anymore
And I really ain't bothered what you think of me
'Cause all I want of you is just a let me be
I don't care anymore, d'you hear? I don't care no more
I never did believe you much anyway
So get out of my way
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don't care anymore
D'you hear? I don't care anymore
I don't care no more
You listening? I don't care no more
No more!
Don't care no more! No more, no more, no more
Don't care, no more, no more, no more, no more, no more, no more, no more
No more, no more, no more, no more, no more, no more

That-or a case of no matter what- being in a relationship where one is always made to be the bad guy or made to feel bad for whatever reason they are manipulated and can't win for losing. The scapegoat finally say enough is enough. I don't care anymore... ;)

It might just be my relating my own life situations to this song, but PERSONALLY, my analysis of the lyrics are, this song tells the story of him breaking up with someone. Perhaps a decision he didn't want to make, but had to, and she refused to be civil about it, spending all her time to make him feel bad, and this song is the culmination of his grown animosity, and practically saying "you know, I used to feel bad for breaking up with you, but you've turned into something I can't care anymore. Get out of my life"

One of the ultimate anthems to moving beyond an unhealthy relationship and a bad partner and breaking free emotionally. In some ways, it's like the "male" analog to Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive." Lots of power and self-confidence in the second half in particular, along with some directed anger. A classic.

I'm pretty sure that the first line is: Well you can tell ev'ryone I'm a DAMN disgrace. I mean, serious, WTF is 'down disgrace'?
I'm sorry, but I've listened to that line about 10 times in a row now, and I'm hearing "down." Regardless of the meaning, I've never heard anybody pronounce "damn" like that.

It's supposed to be "damn" or "damned." Fairly straightforward British pronunciation. Also, it's "means to an end," not "means to an end." Funny that the wrong lyrics show up the same way on dozens of different websites. You wonder who copied and pasted first.

You broke up with me...but I could care less about you now...I'm so over you!

If you listen closely he says the name of his first wife who he had just split off from during the song "I don't care anymore <Jill>"

he actually says the name of his second wife, jill, not his first wife

awesome song--seriously, who can't relate? anyone who's been in a bad relationship (whether its romantic or not)...everyone can relate...

My God, this song just makes so much sense. It's one of those songs that everybody can relate to. Everybody knows somebody who's terrible for their mental and emotional health.

^ Awesome song!
