In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
I just want you to know now
that i care so much about you and I will never let you down
There's just something haunting me now
and I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong
Everyone keeps telling me again
and I wish i could find a way to make you understand
Everyone keeps telling me again
And I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong again
And I don't want to break your heart
But for how long can I hide the truth before we fall apart?
How can I make myself come clean now?
and I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong
Everyone keeps telling me again
and I wish i could find a way to make you understand
Everyone keeps telling me again
And I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong again
Interlude
And everytime I think I've won
but I can't leave this all behind
And everytime I think I've won
but then I find i cannot hide
Will this ever let me be?
NOOOOO!!!
'Cause everyone keeps telling me again
and I wish i could find a way to make you understand
Everyone keeps telling me again
And I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong again
Solo
Everyone is calling after
and I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong (x4)
and I know it's wrong again
that i care so much about you and I will never let you down
There's just something haunting me now
and I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong
Everyone keeps telling me again
and I wish i could find a way to make you understand
Everyone keeps telling me again
And I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong again
And I don't want to break your heart
But for how long can I hide the truth before we fall apart?
How can I make myself come clean now?
and I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong
Everyone keeps telling me again
and I wish i could find a way to make you understand
Everyone keeps telling me again
And I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong again
Interlude
And everytime I think I've won
but I can't leave this all behind
And everytime I think I've won
but then I find i cannot hide
Will this ever let me be?
NOOOOO!!!
'Cause everyone keeps telling me again
and I wish i could find a way to make you understand
Everyone keeps telling me again
And I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong again
Solo
Everyone is calling after
and I know it's wrong, and I know it's wrong (x4)
and I know it's wrong again
