Try not to think about it any more tonight
Try to lay your head down now and sleep
I know that you'll dream about him when you close your eyes
But you can dream about how things should be

It isn't fair to try to tell yourself not to cry
It isn't fair to keep this all inside
Try to keep in mind
You fell again because you're sweet and you're kind
And he doesn't know enough to treat you right
It's about you tonight

Try not to let this take up too much space inside
Try to let it out then let it go
I know that you've been left without a kind word
Or a kind look towards your eyes
Please believe there's so much you don't know

You may not understand you hold so much in your little hand
To set this world on fire if you keep on
I know that you've been wronged
But I know your heart and I know that you're strong so
Try not to let this weigh you down tonight

It's about you tonight

It's about the way you look there when you close your eyes Like an angel who's been lost on her way home
It's about you tonight
It's about the way you look, you feel, what you know is right and
How it's left you out here all alone

If you need a shoulder I've got lots of time to sit
Lots of time to hold you while you think
Just look around this open room and see how much I care for you
And know that some good things will never change

Everything you do just makes me care just that much more for you
And I don't even know what we've become
Tonight I'll stay here right beside you
And watch the years as they slip by you
And try to figure out just where we've come from

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
