Diamonds, Babies and Cars Lyrics
Never get better than this
Never get better than bad
My turn this time he said
Now I can do what I want
Now I can walk away mad
'Cause last time we tried he said
We never get anywhere, we never solve anything
And sticks out his chin like a man...
sticks out his chin like a man
My turn this time they cried
and everyone walks in a line
around in a circle until they die
Diamonds and babies and cars
Don't know how to do anything
My turn this time she said
I wish we could talk a bit more...
Just give me a little more time
My children are growing up mad
They never get anywhere
This time she starts to cry
And everyone stares at the ground
Nobody says a word
and mine is just passing me by
He walks out the door and stares up at the ceiling
My turn this time they cried
and everyone walks in a line
around and around in a circle until they die
My turn this time they screamed
and diamonds and babies and cars
Don't know how to do anything
and turns the radio on
he turns the radio off
My turn this time she says
and she laughs at her self
and she laughs at her self
and the sun goes down
and the sun comes up
and the sun goes down
and the sun comes up
and the sun goes down
and the sun comes up
and the sun goes down
and the sun comes up

I really like this song... I'm just not sure where this song came from... anyone know?

This is actually NOT a CC song, its a HImalayan song. That is the band Adam was in before CC. Their CD is She Likes The Weather, this is one of my favorite songs off the CD.

seems like he's saying that people are wasting their time waiting for something, or at least spending their time waiting. the get what they want, and there is something new that they want. the people are going round in circles in this endless queue, and the days are passing them by. maybe

It's about a divorce. It's been going on for a long time, fighting and stuff. They keep arguing so much that they have it down to a science ... "my turn this time" the best line in the song I think is "you get one chance each life she sighs, and mine is just passing me by" I know how that feels.

Oh wow, these lyrics aren't quite right; it's "Don't add up to anything", not "Don't know how to do anything".. that mistake kind of distracts from the meaning.
it sounds a lot like my parents. at that point in the marriage it definitely shows how diamonds and babies and cars really don't add up to anything. even a diamond ring is just a symbol. to value a car is kind of just materialistic. and the parents are too busy fighting to really value the children. it leaves you wondering what is left.
my favorite line; "my turn this time they cried/and everyone walks in a line/around and around in a circle until they die/my turn this time they screamed/and diamonds and babies and cars/don't add up to anything.."
anyway, colormegray was right, it's by The Himalaymans, not CC, i was wondering why there isn't a Himalayans page on here.. but their website is http://thehimalayans.com . that band was pretty awesome.
