Red Rubber Ball Lyrics
There's a lesson to be learned from this and I learned it very well
Now I know you're not the only starfish in the sea
If I never hear your name again, it's all the same to me
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball
For you I'm just an ornament, somethin' for your pride
Always runnin', never carin', that's the life you live
Stolen minutes of your time were all you had to give
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball
I've got my life to live and I don't need you at all
The roller coaster ride we took is nearly at an end
I bought my ticket with my tears, that's all I'm gonna spend
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball
Whoa, it's bouncin' and it's shinin' like a red rubber ball

paul simon wrote it, cyrkle covered it. gotta love the song.

This song is beautiful. One of my new favorites.
It is quite obvious what it deals with. Motifs are relationships, love, and youth.
The whole deal with the "bid me farewell" probably has to do with rejection. Also the phrase about starfish makes it clear, that the person who is singing doesn't care if he has been rejected, there are others out there.
The roller coaster right? Youth is frequently described as a roller coaster ride.
Its a pretty standard hit the paper lip song, I dont know what that means, "hit the paper lip" but I wanted to say it.
Once again, I love this song.

This is song is so good. Everyone should love it.

i love it! it makes me feel so good.

this isn't simon and garfunkel though, it's cyrcle, good song anyway
@super_dave Paul Simon wrote it and Simon & Garfunkel performed it after The Cyrkle had already made it a hit. S&G's version can be found on their box set Old Friends.

This reminds me of Paul Simon's relationship with Carrie Fisher, who was bipolar, and could easily be captured by the image of a red rubber ball, shiny like the sun.
