"As The Worm Turns" as written by Michael Andrew Bordin, Charles Henry Iii Mosley, Roddy Christopher Bottum, Bill Gould and Jim B. Martin....
One day you're thinking that maybe you're feeling better
And you're probably an OK person, if only you had a job
Through the hollow tombs can see them
Through their mouths I can hear them praying for pain
But it's only a game

Listen, man, I know
That things are really rough
And everybody gets you
And life is really tough
But I know that deep down inside
There's a feeling that rides
All the way to the end

Thursday you sit in your room with the lights turned out
And you don't answer the door
Friday morning looks sunny and bright
Like it's going to be a good day
And it would be if only you had a job

Time is on your side, you're young
Don't waste your time today

General CommentBasically a song about the misery and low self esteem of being unemployed. But dont let it get you down.. you have your whole life ahead of you.

General Commentevidence, midlife crises, and a small victory all kick this songs ass. Goog song though. I agree with crack hitler about the meaning.

Does anyone know what the title means?

General CommentI'd say yeah, it means that don't waste your life because you're down on things. That life is going to be tough but to keep on with it.

General CommentAt any moment and any time the most successful person could lose everything that they have in an instant. So I'd say that this is about not feeling down that you don't have a job because worrying about it never helps anything. You never know what could happen!

General Commenti like the mosely version better, and i think the real thing would have been better w/ him on vox, not until angel dust were pattons vocals really good, hes just too whiney earlier on. Not mature sounding enough.

General CommentThis song has a great, classical sounding keyboard riff that's a blast to play. Though it's easy to cramp up if you're a beginner that doesn't yet have great piano finger technique. (It was one of the first riffs I taught myself when I started playing keyboards, so I know)

I can really relate to this song right now, as an unemployed Manic Depressive.
