Blowing bubbles, lying down
Waiting for the rain to fall
Laughing at the people
Wonder why they always rush, never slow down

And we're smiling, when we're sleeping
And we're smiling, when we're waking

Even if the rain falls down, and all the sky turns cold
I will feel fine
Thunder roared and lightning flashed
But you and I are in a different time

Floating in and out of time
In and out of space
No-one can touch us
We're in a different space

Does make sense that it can be about drugs, but hey, I'm not too sure, do all rock artists have to write about drugs all the time ?

Our experiences shape our interpretations. Most people who thinks songs are about drugs use drugs themselves.

I think it's a pure expression of the euphoria of young love. To me it evokes an image of a couple on a hot, summers day, just lazing around in each other's company while everyone else rushes about like headless chickens. The euphoria is such that even when the skies break and the rain comes in, their euphoria is strong enough to withhold it. And yes, maybe it has druggy connotations too, but I don't think you need to invoke that response.

And to Catroar: I agree with the lyric as listed, I think it's 'We're smiling as we're waking.' I imagine them dozing on a hot, languid day. It captures that mood perfectly - when you're half-in-reality and half-in-the-dreamword. A wonderful swoon of a song.

I mean, it perfectly describes a feeling of euphoria. By the way , I think the line "And we're smiling, when we're waking" would be walking instead of waking.

definitely not about drugs but i think pt was implying that the song has a drug-like effect or can produce a similar feeling in the mind like other songs of theirs.

For me, it is not about drugs. It is about two people who love each other but not together in a same space, maybe cross country love. Their relationship might have ended based on clues I felt from first two songs in this album. But the lyricist this time is imagining, or I would say he is sure that the girl he loves is also thinking of her, their feeling towards each other connected in a time and space trenscending way. Especially the lyricist in first song Seagull mentioned"you burned your wings and now see me fly high", which meant in my feeling, he knows this girls still loves her. They just separated without given a choice. So when he misses her, he can only imagine connecting to her through mind and will instead of physically in same space and time. Though helpless but very powerful love I can feel from this song.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
