i can't stop, i can't breathe, i can't think
i'm in love again
i don't need, i don't eat, i don't sleep
i'm in love again

ooh, and every time i heard you breathe
i sighed
ooh, and every time i saw you bleed
i cried
love is like a song
and if you sing
if you ever need me
i'll be there, and i-

i can't stop, can't breathe, can't think
i'm in love again
i don't need, i don't eat, i don't sleep
i'm in love again

ooh, and every time that i'm with you
i'm alive
ooh, and every time i think of you
there's a light
and i felt it, too

and my heart is a spring
is a well, if you need
if you drink it for you
then i'm leavin'
every little part of me is a part of you

i can't stop, i can't breathe, i can't think
i'm in love again
i don't need, i don't eat, i don't sleep
i'm in love again
i can't stop, i can't breathe, i can't think
i'm in love again
i don't need, i don't eat, i don't sleep
i'm in love again
the boy, the boy's in love
the boy, the boy's in love
the boy, the boy's in love
the boy, the boy's in love

A song about falling in love for the first time, IMO. You never forget your first love.

    My Opinion

I've always appreciated James' contributions to the band. Even though Billy has pretty much covered all the emotions through his music career, I felt he has never been able to convey pure feelings of unfiltered romantic love, which James does really well. IMO James gave the late-90s Pumpkins a haunting, ambient sound as well as songs with layers and layers of extremely well-orchestrated parts. He is extremely underrated and it would be really cool if he were still in the Pumpkins - he would be perfect for what they are doing right now.

"The Boy" is one my favorite songs that James wrote for the Pumpkins. And it's about young, innocent, pure love. I think "the boy" in this song is James referring to himself. According to the lyrics, he's in love again and he can't breathe/stop/think, etc. Like pretty much every young person, James is in a state of euphoria and believes that nothing can go wrong. This song definitely captures the feeling of a high point in a romantic relationship.

God this song is better than most pumpkins a-sides. It's my second favourite song by TSP. Could the boy be james?

LIKE WOW! (thats something i wouldn't normally say) this is just the best. "can't stop, I can't breath, I can't think," Now hold it right there, thats like, the feeling you get when you finnally kiss the one girl you know you love. "I'm in love again." It's like, you were pretty sure you loved the girl, but now, it's for certain. and such a strong feeling.

And im pretty sure that james is write, whoever this boy is, he's deffinitly in love.

I could go on for hours about how good this song is, but my pizza is ready. =D

i've always thought this has a bit of a yo la tengo feel to it... lay some distortion over the top and it could've been lifted right from "I can hear the heart beat as one". that said... this song is amazing! definately my favourite James song. pity his solo album wasn't more like this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
