Push it out, fake a smile
Avert disaster just in time
I need a drink, 'cause in a while
Worthless answers from friends of mine
It's dumb to ask, cool to ignore
Girls possess me but they're never mine
I made my entrance, avoided hazards
Checked my engine I fell behind
I fell behind

She makes me feel like it's raining outside
And when the storm's gone, I'm all torn up inside
I'm always nervous on days like this, like the prom
I get too scared to move 'cause I'm a fuckin' boy

Remember when I was in
The grocery store, now's my time
Lost the words, lost the nerve
Lost the girl, left the line
I would wish upon a star
But that star, it doesn't shine
So read my book with a boring ending
A short story of a lonely guy
Who fell behind

She makes me feel like it's raining outside
And when the storm's gone, I'm all torn up inside
I'm always nervous on days like this, like the prom
I get too scared to move 'cause I'm a fuckin' boy

She makes me feel like it's raining outside
And when the storm's gone, I'm all torn up inside
I'm always nervous on days like this, like the prom
I get too scared to move 'cause I'm still
Just a stupid, worthless boy

This song is my favourite Blink song of all time. I can relate to it so much so it’s like my life’s theme tune.

    Verse 1

"Push it out, fake a smile avert disaster, just in time"

This is as if putting up a falsie front to every one else so not be seen different, not letting people know about his problem especially the girl he likes.

"I need a drink, cause in a while Worthless answers from friends of mine It's dumb to ask, cool to ignore"

It’s as if he’s at a party and is sort of misery drinking in the corner out of the way to pass the time and soften his anxiousness of being out his comfort zone. He then he ask his friends for advice on how to ask the girl he likes out they give pointless drunken crap only to confuse him more so much so that he has got to the point where he has gave up on asking. Also he feels is dumb to ask someone out because he feels he already knows the answer is no, so he goes by the conversional more child like approach to ignore and play it cool as such.

"Girls posess me, but they're never mine"

Because he is so timid in nature around girls or because he’s a "nice guy" girls take advantage (not always deliberately) of this and get him to things to the whim and he never gets anywhere with them.

"I made my entrance, avoided hazards Checked my engine, I fell behind"

This refers back to the idea of a party. That he came in quietly to avoid a social incident. He makes it but feels that all his friends are move on in their relationships with girls so much so that he feels left out only to fuel his anxiousness more.

    "I fell behind"

    This emphasizes his feelings

    Chores

"She makes me feel like it's raining outside And when the storm's gone i'm all torn up inside"

The fact that the girl he likes only sees him as a friend it makes him feel like crap. It could be that he has a somewhat friend relationship with this girl and he wants it to be more and she doesn’t know that, so when she approaches him with a problem ("When the storm's gone") it tries him apart to see here like that but he can’t do anything about it or that he hates it that she doesn’t see him that way. OR that he is so nervous around her that it makes him feel like crap and("When the storm's gone") that is when the day ("storm") is finished he starts blaming himself for not doing anything about his girl.

"I'm always nervous on, days like this like the prom"

That every day he’s always nervous like how you would feel going to pick up a date on the way to prom and how he always tries to look his best (like how you do at prom)to try to get her to notice/ or see him the same way he sees her.

"I get too scared to move, cause i'm a fuckin' boy"

Sort of speaks for its self. He is so nerves when around her he freezes. And then later regrets and gets angry with himself that he is a pussy and should be better than that, since he is not a stupid we kid any more.

    Verse 2

"Remember when I was in the grocery store, now's my time Lost the words, lost my nerve, lost the girl, left the line"

This is him going over a event when he had his opportunity to ask this girl out but he bottled it and looked a tool.

"I would wish upon a star, but that star, it doesn't shine"

He wishes he could be with this girl to have a happy ever after with her (like in a faire tall) or have the guts to ask her out, but it never happens/ comes true ("but that star it, doesn’t shine") To me this line shows his desperation and how much he likes this girl. That he will go to stupid child like approach to fix his problem when he knows that he is the only one who can.

"So read my book with a boring ending A short story of a lonely guy"

This is like he is getting bored with his life and of getting no ware with his self-esteem. That he feels there not a lot to his life and that he is getting to the point where he is beginning to think he is destined to be alone.

    "Who fell behind"

This refers back to his concern that every one else is moving on and that he is becoming more isolated because of it.

    The chores is then repeated

"She makes me feel like it's raining outside And when the storm's gone i'm all torn up inside I'm always nervous on, days like this like the prom I get too scared to move, cause i'm still just a stupid worthless boy"

Just like how I previously commented on the chores. How he’s always in pain when around this girl, that no matter what he does to impress her it never works and that he gets really nervous about rejection by her.

"cause i'm still just a stupid worthless boy"

He is refering to him self in the past, that he is still that little insicure , nervise child he has always been so he begins get angry or depresed at himslef agin.

That is my take on this brilliant song. Being able to relate to almost all the words, I really feeling that I am the Guy in the song. I really liked a girl for 3 years but I was good friends with her but she didn’t see me that way. She just seen me as that "nice Guy" as did a lot of the girls in my school year. I was too much of pussy to ask her out and then when I had my shot at asking this girl out I bottled it. I got hung up on her so much so that I was oblivious to any girls who did like me. I fell behind in terms of my other friend’s relationships and sort of developed self-esteem issues doe to that. This song has basically been a theme tune to my high school life.

I love this song, i just can't get enough of it. I'm such a loser around girls and this explains it perfectly. Great song, one of their best.

"I would wish upon a star but that star, it doesn't shine" Even tho this is a guys perspective, that line just gets me, and I agree w/ jamtheone...the rock show and stftk + first date overshadow some of the better songs on there, even tho they are ALL good

A song that most guys and a small group of girls can relate to. Like "Dogg19" said, I am so horrible when it comes to girls. I usually just freeze up and chicken out. This song really hits home for me and I consider it my life's "theme song". Don't misinterpret me by thinking that I'm feeling sorry for myself - I'm not. I've had my share of successes with girls (currently working on a good relationship with one actually). But this song just hits the nail on the head and hasn't budged from my mind. It will surely be a song that I always remember. I can't wait to hear Blink 182's CD that they will be releasing at the end of 2003. P.S. If you like Blink 182, listen to Boxcar Racer. That band is a side project of Blink 182's Tom and Travis, and two other guys. It's more like the older, punk kind of Blink 182. I bought the CD today and it's great. I'm listening to it now, as a matter of fact. Again, that's Boxcar Racer.

    Thanks.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
