I'm telling you a story now
Of something that's wrong
This has been developing
Since nineteen eighty-one

Maybe she's alone
Maybe she's alone
What can i do?
What can i do?

There's nothing
There's nothing
There's nothing i can do

If I'm a proper jewish boy
Will her family love me?
Can't stand to see her on the stage
And know she's not thinking of me

Maybe she'll be hearing this
But probably she won't (probably she won't)
Possibly she has desires
But probably she don't (probably she don't)

There's nothing I can do

I love this song. . . at first the lyrics struck me as odd, especially the "If I'm a proper Jewish boy / Will her family love me?" This is by far my favorite Ozma song.

Oh man, I can relate to this song exactly. I mean, EXACTLY. I, too, love Natalie Portman. Or, I'm obsessed with her anyways. I know it's unrealistic and she's six years older than me and she's waaaay too beautiful for me, but I can't help but dream of her. So to help you out, Ars Musica, the line "If I'm a proper Jewish boy / Will her family love me?" is because Natalie Portman was born in Jerusalem, Israel( isn't that so hott?), and she's of Jewish descent. So, if you want to get to Natalie, you have to make her parents like you too. Hope that clears it up. Also, in case any of you were wondering, in the first stanza it says :she's been developing since 1981", cuz she was born in '81. Kinda sad that I know all this off the top of my head. Well, Natalie's beautiful, that's all.

The lyrics are right, they don't say "She has been developing..." it says "This has been developing..." which implies that the problem has been developing, in otherwords, since she was born (and If I'm not mistaken, Daniel Brummel also born the same year.) So yeah...

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Trouble Breathing
Alkaline Trio
While the obvious connections with suicide or alcoholism could be drawn easily, more subtly this song could be about someone who views the world through a negative lens constantly and how as much as the writer tries to show the beauty in the world, this person refuses to see it. It's one or another between the rope and the bottle. There is no good option for this person. They can't see it. Skiba sings it in a kind of exasperated way like He's tired of hearing this negative view constantly and just allowing that person to continue feeling the way they feel knowing he can't do anything about it. You can hear it when he says maybe you're a vampire.

Another Love
Tom Odell
I think the meaning is pretty clear. This person got really burned in a previous relationship, and because of this is unable to love and show care in his present one, even though he so badly wants to. It's lovely song, and very sad. You can really feel how defeated and frustrated he is with himself.
