What makes this world go round
Will the answer let her down
She is so sweet and young
And her life has just begun
What does her future hold
That's a story left unknown
Will she make it through her days
Let our love lead the way

Part of me laughs (ooh)
Part of me cries
Part of me wants to question why (question why)
Why is there joy
Why is there pain
Why is there sunshine then the rain (one day)
One day you're here
Next you are gone
No matter what we must go on
Just keep the faith and
Let love lead the way

Everything will work out fine
If you let love
Love lead the way
Sitting there all alone
In the window of her room
Watching the world go by
Brings tears to her eyes
All she sees is hurt and pain
And she wants to break the chains
She'll keep pressing every day
And she'll find her own sweet way

Part of me laughs
Part of me cries (I cry)
Part of me wants to question why
Why is there joy
Why is there pain (so much pain)
Why is there sunshine then the rain
One day you're here
Next you are (you're) gone
No matter what we must go on (I will go on)
Just keep the faith and (keep your faith)
Let love lead the way
(I know I know I know oh oh)

You can be all that
And still can be who you are
You've got to know for sure
That it isn't make believe
You may feel weak
But you are strong
Don't you give up girl
If you keep holding on
You'll never be wrong
Just close your eyes
'Cause it lies deep in your heart, yeah

Part of me laughs
Part of me cries (I cry)
Part of me wants to (I do) question why (I do)
Why is (yeah yeah) there joy (oh)
Why is there pain (why is it)
Why is there (why is it) sunshine then the rain
One day you're here (you're here)
Next you're are gone (are gone)
No matter what we must go on (we must keep)
Just keep the faith and
Let love lead (love lead) the way (the way)

Everything will work out fine
If you let love
Let love lead the way
Love lead the way

it's most likely a song about Geri leaving the group, e.g. "Goodbye". It also has a great sadness to it, like it could be used at a funeral.

Why post B.S. on here, sic and bo? No lives? One of the best Spice Girls songs, hands down. Emma's vocals are awesome.

One of the few Spice Girls songs that has good lyrics that feel like they have meaning. Their other songs are good and I like them, but they often feel a bit more like bubblegum music. I mean, stuff like "Mama" and "Naked" feel like they had thought put into them, but apart from that, stuff like "Holler" and "Wannabe" are fun, but not really meaningful.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
