"O I Sleep" as written by and Cummings O'hare....
I wanted to see
if fire would burn me.
I thought I would know
if four walls could hold me.

I wanted to see
if fire would burn me.

General CommentWhen I first heard it, I originally thought it was far too short of a good song. But, after a few more hits of the repeat button, I realized the length suited it. Something about the simple tone and the few lyrics leaves a lasting impression.

    Simplicity at its finest.

General CommentThis song is awesome! The simple lyrics combined with the ethereal music makes the song so lovely and pleasing to hear. Mogwai owns.

General CommentA very eerie song.. Such a shame on the length. Could of been a whole lot more.

General CommentYeah, and the way it follows the song before it on the CD, it's length is perfect.

My InterpretationI feel like it's about our modern lifestyle, and the lack of practical experiences with nature due to it. Being taught that fire would burn is not the same as the experience of being burnt, which is the only true way to confirm the theory we 'know'. The four walls seems to represent houses, buildings, or maybe the restricted urban/suburban lifestyle.
