Mine, immaculate dream made breath and skin
I've been waiting for you
Signed with a home tattoo
Happy birthday to you was created for you

Can't ever keep from falling apart at the seams
Can I believe you're taking my heart to pieces?

Ah, it'll take a little time
Might take a little crime to come undone
Now we'll try to stay blind to the hope and fear outside
Hey child, stay wilder than the wind and blow me in to cry

Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone

Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone

Words, playing me deja vu
Like a radio tune, I swear I've heard before
Chill, is it something real?
Or the magic I'm feeding off your fingers

Can't ever keep from falling apart at the seams
Can I believe you're taking my heart to pieces?

Lost, in a snow filled sky
We'll make it alright to come undone
Now we'll try to stay blind to the hope and fear outside
Hey child, stay wilder than the wind and blow me in to cry

Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone

Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone (can't ever keep from falling apart)

Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone (can't ever keep from falling apart)

Who do you need?
Who do you love? (Can't ever keep from falling apart)
Who do you love?
When you come undone

    General Comment

I've had this song on repeat for awhile now and after much thinking, I decided that the song is sung by the singer to himself infront of the his gem.

Mine, immaculate dream made breath and skin ((The singer's dreams of THE girl for him, of certain characteristics, is now found to be alive and real))

I've been waiting for you ((He's been in search for her and has found her))

Signed, with a home tattoo, ((He promises that what he says is true and durable- note: tattoos are durable and during the time the song was written tattoos could not be removed.))

Happy birthday to you was created for you ((He's telling her that she has a purpose to live))

(can't ever keep from falling apart At the seams/ ((He cant hold himself together despite how hard he tries. This is about personal defenses and our "wall" that keeps our emotions away from people. His defenses wont hold against her --credit to cme for the talk about defenses))

Can't I believe you're taking my heart To pieces) ((He cant believe that no matter how hard he tries to maintain a distance, she's breaking through his defenses- taking his heart a part. EXPLAINATION: when people first love and suffer from heartache, they start building defenses to protect themselves so that they wont be hurt again. In this song, the girl is breaking through his barriers - so taking his heart to pieces is a good thing))

Oh, it'll take a little time, ((self explained))

might take a little crime ((it's might take some difficult rule-breaking))

to come undone now ((to come undone [im my opinion] refers to the "seams" that cant hold together - his heart is coming undone. his defenses are breaking down and he's revealing the contents of his heart to her))

(PRECHORUS) We'll try to stay blind ((they'll attempt to advert the aroused emotions))

to the hope and fear outside ((to what they, if 2 persons combine, could possibly be))

Hey child, stay wilder than the wind ((He's telling her/himself to stay different from everyone else - remember, she's a living form of his immaculate dream that he's finally found after alot of searching))

And blow me in to cry ((and finally when the time comes, if it still remains that she's his true love (an answer to "does true love exist?), he'll be blown(meaning forced) into finally being able to believe true love exist - this will of course lead to tears enlightenment. It's that feeling you feel when your soul's searching can finally rest))

(CHORUS) Who do you need, who do you love ((This is quite confusing for me because up to now I've interpreted the song from the singer's first person perspective to himself. On the other hand, i think he might finally making a movie and now asking her whether she reciprocates his feelings...))

When you come undone ((....when she looks into her own heart))

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
