Candy and a Currant Bun Lyrics

Oh my, girl sitting in the sun
Go buy, candy and a currant bun
I like, to see you run
Like that......

Oooh, don't talk to me
Please just fuck with me
Please you know I'm feeling frail

It's true, sun shining very bright
It's you, who I'm gonna love tonight
Ice cream, taste good in the afternoon
Ice cream, taste good if you eat it soon

Oooh, don't touch me child
Please you know you drive me wild
Please you know I'm feeling frail

Don't try another cat
Don't go where other you must know why
Very very very frail

Oh my, girl sitting in the sun
Go buy, candy and a currant bun
I like, to see you run
Like that......

The funny thing is that, if I remember right, the "Let's Roll Another One" version had "please just walk with me" instead of "please just fuck with me". So they got rid of some drug references, but added in an even more blatant sex reference. And apparently successfully slipped it by.

Exactly. Very Sydlike. "I'll teach you to try to censor my drug-addled genius! Bwahahaha!"

This really is the best bit of noise ever invented - along with Syds other songs, and any other songs by Syd, this is the best, really - although it might be just a little bit better. I think I have a version off a radio broadcast and the mental bit after the second 'frail' is just ace.

shakeymango, your friend is right, they wanted to name this song "lets roll another one" but they couldnt because the meaning was to obvious that is was about pot smoking. so the BBC told them they had to change the title and lyrics. it was on the B-side of the arnold layne single and had lyrics like"tastes right if you eat it right"
