Seamus Lyrics
Seamus, that's the dog, was outside
Well, I was in the kitchen,
Seamus, my old hound, was outside
Well, you know the sun was sinkin' slowly
My old hound dog sat right down and cried

Aww! Well, everyone has one of those days every once in a while! Ofcource it's a joke, more or less, but I love it, so simple and nice.
I've never actually heard Meddle straight (always stoned or something, out of principle, because I dont want it to be getting old, hearing it again and again. It's just too good) so I hardly remember anything other then what I wrote in my diary at the time.

i named my dog after this song

So my name is Seamas. With an A and not a U. Growing up and introducing myself to people in often got mixed reactions to my name. One of the more common reactions was someone saying "My (something or other) named their dog Seamas." Bill Clinton was a common name brought up as he had in fact named his dog Seamus. Well long story short 30 years later I find out about this song. I love it.

u have to love seamus's singin on this, the version on live in pompei is hilarious

operative, i havent ever had a day when i had to look after Steve Marriot's dog Seamus while recording an album, but maybe everyone else has...

funny little cute song without any real meaning. probably just a fun song they felt like recording in spare time. love the bluesy guitar feeling this has to it

What the heck is the point of this song? It just breaks up a wonderful album!

This song is my honorary favorite song, Echoes being my true favorite song. This song captures the entire essence of it's genre (British Blues), and it's not even PF's genre.
Kind of like how The Nile Song captures the essence of heavy metal (I think). It's the only song in that vein that I enjoy. Also the only song off the entire More album that I enjoy.

Why does everyone hate Seamus? It makes my Floyd top 25, no question.

Well I do agree with the folks who put Seamus as the bottem 10. It was almost disruptive to the amazing album it's on.
