High velocity bullet at close range
Can damage the mind
Shattering the skull, shredding the brain
Severing the spine

Bury a round of lead in the chest
It's quite an impression
Imagine the innards of your soul
The infliction

Instinctive regression
With intent to kill
No regard of human life
Or the blood spilled

Riddled convulsions
Confetti of flesh
Scattered helplessly
Losing your control of physical facilities

Release the slide to cleanse inside
Prepare to anoint
Snap the tongue in the groove discharge
To make my hallowed point

Instinctive regression
With intent to kill
No regard of human life
Or the blood spilled

The power of a gun
Used with conviction
Dispersed on excursions
Randomly kills its victims

My sweet revenge
Bitter in depression
The thrilling release
Of a hatred deep persuasion

The power of a gun
Used with conviction
Diffused compulsions
Unending repercussions

Violent emotion
Screaming revolution
Spasmic convulsions
Death an empty gun

General CommentAlthough this is not the most popular Slayer song, it is probably in my top five favorite Slayer songs. Obviously it is about someone with sadistic behavior with the use of a gun. However, since the song is called Hallowed Point (hallow meaning holy, or honored reverently) I have taken it to be a subtle attack on religious violence and the fervor people kill because of their religious beliefs. I think Slayer might be exposing the hypocrisy in religious violence...all the major religions of the world condemn murder, but there religious factions fight one another all the time, usually not solely because of religious beliefs, but religious beliefs definitely play a part in the violence. This is also clear with the line "The power of a gun, Used with conviction" (one of the meanings of conviction is a firm belief) and also with the line "Imagine the innards of your soul, The infliction". Slayer is not usually one for subtlety so I'm not sure if that's what the song is about, but that's how I interpret it.

Song MeaningNeed to point out the down right awesome personifcation in this song.
Instinctive regression (slide slamming back when gun is fired)
    With intent to kill
    No regard of human life
Or the blood spilled (from gun's perspective)

Snap the tongue in the groove discharge (flame coming out of the barrel is the tongue, and the gun is talking)
To make my hallowed point (gun is speaking for me)

    Spasmic convulsions (rapid fire)

General Commentsomeone who's trigger happy, violent, all that ... I'm thinking more of a psycho ex/cop, or something who's just so violent and unbalenced that they get a job as a cop so they can shoot and beat people up wth impunity.
