Headwires Lyrics
Were you satisfied
Did it free the feelings in your spine
Sleeping way inside all this time
Will you meet your mind where the night collides
Will you greet yourself when the sun arrives
I'll just stay behind, I've met mine
Better than a bullet being fired
Tangled in your headwires now
Better than a bullet being fired
Tangled in your headwires
Headwires now
Help you feed the wires when your head unwinds
And if our headlines become entwined
You can have all mine, I'll be fine
There's a reason why keeping me alive
There's a cure in me that I wish were mine
As long as I can fight, I'll survive
Tangled in your headwires now
Better than a bullet being fired
Tangled in your headwires
Stationed on the wire, one day I'll let go
Tell them all hello
Tell them all hello
Stationed on the wire, one day I'll let go
Tell them all hello
Tell them all hello
The sun is on Arlandria
The sun is on Arlandria, headwires
The sun is on Arlandria
The sun is on Arlandria, headwires
The sun is on Arlandria
The sun is on Arlandria, headwires
wow I'm really sick of this connecting every Foo's song to Kurt its almost sickening, maybe a few were written about that part of his life but honestly get over it, I love Nirvana and Kurt but let Dave do his own thing and quit this crap...K done aha
i don't know what this song is about...i thought maybe suicide. "better than a bullet being fired, tangled in your headwires now" like its better to get threw this sh*t than to kill yourself.
OK, I've lost count of how many Foo Fighters songs "are about Kurt Cobain". This one, though, seems like it could be, if for no other reason than "Tell them all hello" sounding like a reference to Smells Like Teen Spirit, with no other obvious meaning.
I think that a few of the songs from the Foo's are definetly about Kurt...but I also think that a lot of the songs which are "supposedly" about Kurt are not. I think Dave Grohl loved Nirvana but he's over it--he's in a new band and has a new life. Judging from this, I'm sure he writes about new experiences he has had. Dave also doesn't seem like the kind of person who dwells on misfortune: he is very optimistic.
this song has grown on me, now pretty much my favourite off TNLTL. looking forward to the new album...it's gonna be old school rockout, so woohoo! anyways, that's what i think...
I think its about getting caught in someone's mind games, and caring about what they think about you; at least...that's what the song means to me.
Arlandria is a town in Virginia he might be writting about his return to virginia or from living there as a kid.
Some songs are about kurt, courtney love and seattle. Most arent but they will always have an impact in his music.
You're very close, but Arlandria isn't quite a town. It's a section of Alexandria that borders Arlington, the name is a combination of the two. Both are DC suburbs, right near Springfield where Grohl grew up.

My idea of this song is it's about saying goodbye to people who maybe you shouldn't be around. Weither they are drug addicts or gangs or just pessimistic people, I think it's saying that you're tired of the way they think, and you're going to seperate yourself and get back to being you.
A science fiction writer named Larry Niven coined the term "wirehead" in one of his books. This is a person who has been fitted with a device that enters their brain and physically stimulates their pleasure center, creating artificial bliss. Based on that, I think this song is about using drugs(headwires) to create artificial happiness and how it's not the same as real happiness(have you been headwired? were you satisfied?). There are a lot of lyrics that seem to point to drugs/tripping out too. Will you meet your mind where the night collides. Will you greet yourself when the sun arrives. These two seem the most obvious to me.
FF have now released another song about Arlandria... WHAT DOES IT MEAN???
Arlandria is a part of Alexandria, Virginia, a suburb of DC that Dave Grohl grew up in

Haha, I just came here checking the lyrics to make sure he was saying "Arlandria" wondering the exact same thing. Cool to know.

creedude is nearly right. Grohl grew up in Springfield, which is next to Alexandria. Still a DC suburb though.

By the way, you probably won't find Arlandria on any maps. The name is "locals only" slang, coming from the fact that this part of Alexandria borders Arlington, Virginia. The term Arlandria is a combination of the two words.
