"Emenius Sleepus" as written by Billie Joe Armstrong, Frank E. Iii Wright and Michael Pritchard....
I saw my friend the other day
And I don't' know
Exactly just what he became
It goes show
It wasn't long ago
And I was just like you
And now I think I'm sick
And I want to go home

How have I been how have you been
It's been so long
What have you done with all your time
And what went wrong
I knew you back when
And you, you knew me
And now I think you're sick
I want to go home

Anybody ever say no?
Ever tell you that you weren't right?
Where did all the little kid go?
Did you lose it in a hateful fight?
And you know it's true
It wasn't long ago
And I was just like you
And now I think I'm sick
And I want to go home

Song MeaningI can totally relate to this song, my view is that its about being in a situation whether its drugs or alchohol and realising thats its a bad place and you grow out of it. With me I was there but stopped saw where it was taking me, but still have two friends still in the same place, and how it has changed them and I dont want to be round them anymore..
I would say Green Day is the most honest band out there, in which everyone has something that they cant relate too..

I'm really looking forward to the new album. Slighty new direction again, with emphesis on American Idiot. Old stuff is still the best. Green Day still showing they are still amazing =) Cant wait for world tour..

General CommentSince JAR is about Mike Dirnt's friedn who died, Mike Dirnt wrote this song, and it mentions his friend, so i would say it's about the same thing as JAR

General Commentthis is one of my favourites off dookie and i think at some point everyone feels what this song is about. when you're watching a friend mature way too fast. too bad, cos maturity sucks. anyways, that's what i think...

General CommentYeah, I agree, it's definately about meeting a friend who has changed a little. Let me tell you, it really sucks when that happens. BJ has a way with words.
