I think this song is a lot like Use of Time..only the message is hidden in a more upbeat melody. I think this song is sorta a "pep-talk" to themselves...they want to let everyone know that they're having fun living their dream while they can...("...be sure that a dreams alive...there only short burst in life..are you able to be satisfied...do you expect fun all the time...") They've been around for a long time, and a lot of people still don't appreciate what they've brought to the music world. They're talking about how they're sick of getting shafted with shitty record sales and reviews....but even if this happened to be the end for them...they wanted to go out with a positive message. ("...Long time since we've first came here...and sometimes we fall on deaf ears...one thing I've got to say before sales dive...stay positive and love your life..") They want everybody to remember to be thankful for what you have because things could be a lot worse ("and although your true love has just left you...well at least you mother kept you..") the lyrics in this song truly descroibe how they see their situation. but then they see us, the excitable ones, and keep the positivity flowing. record sales mean dick, and by now all 311 fans should have recognized this. if they sold like an album once a week...would we still listen? FUCK YE! if they sold a million records a week thats when the trouble starts..311 isnt meant to be popular and i mean that in the nice way..its good not to be popular..and be 'underground' and still kicking it and everything....and ive been rambling on to much that i forgot the main point of this post..lol

I could go on about the "stay positive" part but everyone's done that, I was listenin to this song today and what stuck out was the part "And if you reading in close caption/There's still bad things that could have happened" If something bad, even horrible, happens to you, at least you're around to know it happened, to understand what it meant. If you're alive you gotta be living, no matter what your circumstances. Definitely.
