This is one of 311's most...unique...songs. It's so different from any of their other stuff...i love it. It's just about saying something really dumb and then looking back and saying to yourself.."what the fuck was I thinking?" We've all done it...everyone can relate to this song.
souljamike is close...in an interview last July, P-NUT (the bassist, said that the song is about how Nick, the lead singer, felt ashamed of himself for his lyrics in a song from the previous album entitled "DLMD" or Don't Let Me Down which tells the talks about his mother's bad situation with men who didn't treat her right. Nick felt he approached it wrong with the song and that he was stooping to the level of those bad men instead of staying positive which is what the 311 vibe is supposed to portray.

More literally, I think this song was written by Nick Hexum after looking back on an old song or lyric that he had sung. He appears to feel much differently about something that he had once said in a song, and feels embarassed that he would have ever said anything like that. Though he never makes a reference to what it may be.
