well im glad taht u like transistor..since it is an odd song...much like all 311 songs..but it isnt played very often..good stuff... i would label this song as maybe bragging..but not really...
im a big 311 fan i have most cd's all there songs are really good.
311 never fails to come up with amazing and original songs...being a 311 fan for nearly half my life, i strongly disagree with you, g*star13, the only thing to be ashamed of is the fact that there are people like you who dont appreciate wonderful music.

This is what I've heard the song is about:
When they say "You're a Transistor" it show's their belief that everyone is made of the same energy from the sun (conducting to the motherstar) and it flows through us all. We are all essencially the same...it's a messege of peace/unity, anti-racism ect.
The first couple lines is a showing of their disgust of critics...but this song is in no way bragging. 311 usually get's bad reviews from critics and they're saying it's because the critics don't uderstand them.
Personally, I very much agree with them on that point.

this was 1 of the first 311 songs i heard, im a huge 311 fan. u dont really like much first time u listin but they grow on u, now i help keep the song database on their setlist site up to date, i love 311 and 311 day is gonna b awesome
If no one has ever noticed, this song is the foreshadowing of the entire album, and the main theme- transistor. The electricity that flows through all of us- makes us all the same, one. We are of the universe, we are one with the universe. This is a conceptual album about us belonging to the universe, and all astrophysical phenomena. From Galaxy to the Inner Light Spectrum, Electricity, Jupiter, Light Years, Starshines, and finishing the album with the sound of our universe. 311 is the most underrated band of all-time.
