The wind blew and her hair stood still
He sits beneath her window sill
She awaits the magic in his hands
He walks her out into the night
And takes her in a different light
Her eyes divert to the water beneath his feet

Oh, the water beneath his feet
Oh, the water beneath his feet

Boy wakes up and runs outside
To find that all his fears have died
And all the shells are laying on the sand
She kicks a rock along that road
And stood still while the story was told

Do you believe in me he said, can you believe in me
Oh, you believe in me
Oh, you believe in me

The wind blew and her hair stood still
He sits beneath her window sill
She awaits the magic in his hands
He walks her out into the night
And takes her in a different light
Her eyes divert to the water beneath his feet

Oh, the water beneath his feet
Oh, the water beneath his feet
Oh, you believe in me
Oh, you believe in me

what a beautiful, peaceful and serene song...if i'm not mistaken braddigan wrote this one and i'd agree with you abchak that this song is referring to Jesus who will take away all of the boys fears if he just places his trust in him and believes...which makes sense given braddigan's strong faith in God....again such a beautiful song

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
