you'd like to think I have it easy at times I think you're right but then I take a look around and see your eyes on me at times I think I have it easy until I close my eyes and see this life in my box lets you turn the key when you want to hear a melody but I can never be the apple of your eye the story of your life it's what's inside I go through stages when I feel this matters this song and dance is a way of life for me you'd like to think I have it easy at times I think your right but then I take a look around and see the grass is always greener on the other side and I can never be the one who saves the day I'm just the man in the music box it's nothing special I'm just the man in the music box (your music box superhero) I will never be your superhero.
This song is great. To me, this about him ow being able to get close to anyone really, besides them hearing them on their 'music box'. He says that at times things are easy for him, but then he realizes that he is only a voice to you, nothing more. That he can be your music superhero, but not you real life superhero. This is all pretty much explained in the song, but yeah. Great song.
this song is so awesome. i think it's pretty self explanatory, but that's one of the main reasons i think it's so cool. i think there are times when we've all felt like this, at least i know i have. "i'm just the man in the music box it's nothing special i'm just the man in the music box i will never be your superhero." what a great if not kinda sad line.
it reminds me of the fact that most people you know only get glimpses of your life, and therefore can never fully understand what you have had to undertake, and ven if they knew every little thing that happened to you, they still could only how it would make them feel, not you. hm...i digress.
This is my absolute favorite Juliana Theory song...the opening guitar part is such a pretty bit, and then the lyrics grab you from there. I've listened to it so many times, and I relate to it so well...
i think this song has many meanings. one is of control...i think TGT is talking about about people expecting so much out of them. just like parents sometimes expect too much out of their children. things are harder than they seem, and sometimes others dont realize that. the juliana theory is a very talented band :D -melissa
