Night and Day Lyrics
Only you beneath the moon, under the sun
Whether near to me or far
It's no matter darlin', where you are
I think of you night and day
That this longing for you, follows wherever I go
In the roaring traffic's boom
In the silence of my lonely room
I think of you night and day
There's an ooh, such a hungry yearning, burning inside of me
And this torment won't be through
Till you let me spend my life making love to you
Day and Night
Night and Day
James Lipton translated this into Latin.
Why is it that songs from the '40's aren't complicated and say so much? You can't get songs like this anymore!
i totally agree. so beautiful, rich with emotion, saying everything, without the need for convoluted crap
Yeah, good point.
and a song doesn't really need to have a very complicated lyrics that are so hard to explain just to make it great.

This is only one of hundreds of songs Cole Porter composed. Every one rich in meaning and very simple. And if you listen closely, there is a very subtle wit to them that is charming. Yeah, they just don't write them like this anymore. That's one of the reasons why I'm turning to these songs more and more. Simplicity doesn't have to mean dull. Overcomplication is what is boring me.
