I saw it all
A piece in games
It sets in slow descend
Just when I thought I saw everything
You showed me something new
You Thought that I would never understand

But now I know how to
Understand you
To see you
To realize the rot inside
You're evil
But placid
I feel sick cause I did not see
Nothing at all through all the excess
Destoryed it all and took all the rest
I was misled and nothing less
It's all the same, in love with distress

Somehow the starts retain our innocence
Disappointment in how things have gone
But inside the eyes of every living man
Steep stairways leading down to God
Show your face so you'll convince all of us

You invade daydreams
And ruin everything
Forever, you'll stay the same
Forced us to go insane

There is no place for you in this
Can you find your way back away from us?
Can you adhere and show us strength?
You fucked us all, done nothing straight
Still we won't crawl and we won't fall

Yeah.. we gave you something to keep
All this again
Not again
Took the long road but got out
I'll show you something
You fucker
Just raise your chin like this

Fuck scrape out his eyes
Yeah, now shave his head and face and ass
Just get him ready
Cause I want to make this last
It's fucking perfect, show the world

This is by far my favorite song off Violence, Matts screams just slam you in this song, and the riffs are brutal as much as they are beautiful, and the lyrics are deep and angry, this song is right up there with the best of Nothingface.....from what i think this is basically a song about someone that screws over all of their friends and stabs them in the back, who knows, this is one kick ass song, WORLD DOMINATION

dude...its all about a relationship gone bad..."can you find your way back away from us"....and nothing says more than "You invade daydreams And ruin everything forever, you'll stay the same Forced us to go insane" that should be the title of the song....

I'm pretty sure you are wrong too. Rick played for this album, Tommy didn't actually record anything on this album, so I really doubt the song is about him. I don't think he left the band on bad terms either, as he left because he has a heart condition.

That said, I don't know what the song is about.

Last I checked, this site mainly tailors to what YOU think the songs mean. Pull your panties back up and quit your whining if you don't agree with someone. Oh, and try enjoying the music.

I agree with thewaywetrust. Try to enjoy the music. And don't insult people, we are trying to figure out the meaning of the song.

Btw, the dude who submitted the lyrics forgot the part after you fucked us all, done nothing straight. it goes But I can tell, cause this is strange. So we won't fall, and we won't crawl.

Perhaps hes singing about/to "god"... "There is no place for you in this. Can you find your way back away from us? You invade daydreams and ruin everything" Could be saying he doesnt want god in peoples lives so hes just telling him to leave us all alone. "YOU'RE EVIL BUT PLACID" god is evil but placid... cant be seen. But the most convincing line is... "Steep stairways leading down to God. SHOW YOUR FACE so you'll convince all of us." but tahts just my OPINION

And as for the title, I have no clue... Maybe once he believed in god and prayed to him but now he doesnt so his hands are "hidden" so no one knows who he prays to...maybe no one?... idk lol

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Zombie
Cranberries, The
"Zombie" is about the ethno-political conflict in Ireland. This is obvious if you know anything of the singer (Dolores O'Riordan)'s Irish heritage and understood the "1916" Easter Rising reference. "Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence caused such silence Who are we mistaken - Another mother's breaking Heart is taking over" Laments the Warrington bomb attacks in which two children were fatally injured on March 23rd, 1993. Twelve year old Tim Parry was taken off life support with permission from his mother after five days in the hospital, virtually braindead. "But you see it's not me It's not my family" References how people who are not directly involved with the violence feel about it. They are "zombies" without sympathy who refuse to take action while others suffer.
