“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
Momma killed the baby
Now the daddy was in town
Drove up in his pick-up truck
And buried her underground
The rebel force will save me
Pink panties all around
What they said was so unreal
I guess it was profound
When they said
Everybody?
Anybody?
Somebody?
Nobody!
Mister Anti-everything
Atari stick in hand
Bat me on the forehead
So I could understand
He smeared his face with lipstick
And yelled and screamed real loud
Point in my direction
And rub semen on the crowd
When he said
Everybody?
Anybody?
Somebody?
Nobody!
Everyone needs a hero
Nobody needs a star
Will you still adore me
When I've gone way too far
The rebel force will save me
They grabbed my little hand
Threw me in a pick-up truck
Cause I don't understand
Now the daddy was in town
Drove up in his pick-up truck
And buried her underground
The rebel force will save me
Pink panties all around
What they said was so unreal
I guess it was profound
When they said
Everybody?
Anybody?
Somebody?
Nobody!
Mister Anti-everything
Atari stick in hand
Bat me on the forehead
So I could understand

Threw me in a pick-up truck
Cause I don't understand

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Trouble Breathing

While the obvious connections with suicide or alcoholism could be drawn easily, more subtly this song could be about someone who views the world through a negative lens constantly and how as much as the writer tries to show the beauty in the world, this person refuses to see it. It's one or another between the rope and the bottle. There is no good option for this person. They can't see it. Skiba sings it in a kind of exasperated way like He's tired of hearing this negative view constantly and just allowing that person to continue feeling the way they feel knowing he can't do anything about it. You can hear it when he says maybe you're a vampire.

Another Love

I think the meaning is pretty clear. This person got really burned in a previous relationship, and because of this is unable to love and show care in his present one, even though he so badly wants to. It's lovely song, and very sad. You can really feel how defeated and frustrated he is with himself.

Somewhere Only We Know
Keane
Keane
Per the FAQ on Keane's website, Keane's drummer Richard Hughes, stated the following:
"We've been asked whether "Somewhere Only We Know" is about a specific place, and Tim has been saying that, for him, or us as individuals, it might be about a geographical space, or a feeling; it can mean something individual to each person, and they can interpret it to a memory of theirs... It's perhaps more of a theme rather than a specific message... Feelings that may be universal, without necessarily being totally specific to us, or a place, or a time..."
With the nostalgic sentiment and the overall tone of the song, I think Keane is attempting to express a Portuguese term known as 'saudade', which does not have a direct English translation but roughly means "that which we remember because it is gone."
OK! To guiffporn and others: Jessicka and Manson grew up together in Florida, although he is much older than she. They went to high school together, he's the one who acctually inspired her to start a riot band. She was not one of his "groupies", although he did name her as one in his biography, which is one of the things that lead them to the falling out of their friendship. This song to me has mainly been about rebelling, with even (maybe) a bit of an underlying rape theme. Possibly some hints of abuse thrown in. Also: Maybe it's about her trying to be different from people in the town, trying to follow a different trend, or being "converted" to that trend, and at first being forced to understand (almost a "poser" aspect), and then becoming the ideal of this trend ('will you still adore me when i've gone way too far') and outdoing her "creater". This personal theory, could, infact, refer to Manson, as being her idol/her being his follower. So many oppertunities.
i guess it's about rebeling and being blamed for something.
this reminds me of an old relationship. i hated him for always treating me like shit and he would hit me in the head when i wasn't paying attention. then he said he would kill me after i miscarried our baby. i can really relate to this song. and it somehow helps me deal with my memories of that relationship.

Another good song. I think its just about how Jessicka would be herself than following others. Rebelling and being blamed for something, for sure
I think the part that goes "He smeared his face with lipstick And yelled and screamed real loud Point in my direction And rub semen on the crowd" is definitely about Marilyn Manson, because Jessika was one of his groupies and was responsible for giving them their name.
Sorry, that was meant to read:
"and HE was responsible for giving them their name".
Yeah now that i think of it .. im pretty sure its about marilyn manson ..

i think this song is about a girl who when she was young was abused in many ways to the point where it really messed with her mind. and now she is being rescued, but her mind has become so twisted she that she doesn't know if she can trust these people or what is going on around her. i think the 1st lines about killing the baby are talking about how as they were escaping they killed a baby because it was in the way and slowing them down. so overall i think this song is about her rescue and how confused she is and is telling her story in mini flashbacks showing us how abused she was.
