I'm not afraid of standing still
I'm just afraid of being bored
I'm not afraid of speaking my mind
I'm just afraid of being ignored

I'm not afraid of feeling
and I'm not afraid of trying
I'm just afraid of losing
And I am afraid of dying

Without you yes I do and I hope that you do too
Without you yes I do
Without you yes I do and I hope that you do too
Without you yes I...

I'm not afraid of being sick
I'm more afraid of being well
I'm not afraid
Put the gun in my hand
I'm just afraid it will hurt like (hurt like) hell

I'm not afraid of screaming
and I'm not afraid of crying
I'm just afraid of forgetting
And I am afraid of dying

Without you yes I do and I hope that you do too
Without you yes I do
Without you yes I do and I hope that you do too
Without you yes I...

Fear of
Fear of
Fear of
Fear of

I'm not afraid of looking ugly
I couldn't care what they say
I'm not afraid of happy endings
I'm just afraid my life won't work that way

I'm not afraid of forgiveness
I absolve you everything
I'm not afraid of lying...
But I am afraid of dying

Without you yes I do and I hope that you do too
Without you yes I do
Without you all I do is sit and think about you
Without you yes I...

such a good song...my fav from Jack off Jill. It's something I can relate to "I'm not afraid of happy endings, I'm just afraid my life won't work that way"

This song has to be one of my absolutly favourites when I'm feeling happy. the tune is so happy, and the lyrics are so meaningfull. When this song is playing i find it really hard not to smile, i jus sing along, n dont care about people hearing me, i jus sing loud n put my all into it cuz its so great. it also makes me feel that i can take on anything and not have a care in the world. my favourite lines are. 'im not afraid of speaking my mind im just afraid of being ignored.' 'im not afraid of looking ugly, i couldn't care what they say, im not afraid of happy endings im just afraid my life wont work that way' neadless to say, its a great tune, great lyrics, jess' voice is amazing and overall this song rocks! -_~¤~_Mø®ßîз·Åñgë|_~¤~_

everyone will argue with me for this one but i think this is kind of, partly at least, a parody of some 'popular' punk bands. apart from the actual skill involved in this, the basic tune etc is similar to blink182, offspring etc. some of the lyrics also seem to be a parody of the teeny punk band mind set. sorry. please dont hurt me. -roz-

Trouble Breathing
Alkaline Trio
While the obvious connections with suicide or alcoholism could be drawn easily, more subtly this song could be about someone who views the world through a negative lens constantly and how as much as the writer tries to show the beauty in the world, this person refuses to see it. It's one or another between the rope and the bottle. There is no good option for this person. They can't see it. Skiba sings it in a kind of exasperated way like He's tired of hearing this negative view constantly and just allowing that person to continue feeling the way they feel knowing he can't do anything about it. You can hear it when he says maybe you're a vampire.

Zombie
Cranberries, The
"Zombie" is about the ethno-political conflict in Ireland. This is obvious if you know anything of the singer (Dolores O'Riordan)'s Irish heritage and understood the "1916" Easter Rising reference. "Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence caused such silence Who are we mistaken - Another mother's breaking Heart is taking over" Laments the Warrington bomb attacks in which two children were fatally injured on March 23rd, 1993. Twelve year old Tim Parry was taken off life support with permission from his mother after five days in the hospital, virtually braindead. "But you see it's not me It's not my family" References how people who are not directly involved with the violence feel about it. They are "zombies" without sympathy who refuse to take action while others suffer.
