Taking It All Too Hard Lyrics
No not the same mistakes again.
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard
I know you'd never admit
You would ever be to blame
Everything's a game to you
The old days are gone
And they're better left alone
I cannot help you, it's much too late
Oh no not the same mistakes again.
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard
You never never did anything wrong, but it
It just seemed to fall apart
But you're taking it all too hard
Like shadows creeping around.
You're much too scared to look down
And it's lonely out on your own
And they're better left alone
But I still miss you
I keep it to myself
Oh no not the same mistakes again
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard
Oh no not the same mistake again
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard
No no not the same mistakes again
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard
Oh no not the same mistakes again
You're taking it all to heart
You're taking it all too hard

The song is about a past relationship that started good but took a bad turn. He's thinking he wants to go back to her, but decides "the old days are gone."

For the longest I thought Phil was saying either "heart" or "hard" but not both. I love that both of them fit. I can relate to this song a lil' bit b/c I was in a relationship that kept starting and stopping and starting again. It's a relief that it has stopped for good and him and I are just long distance friends. Phil's saying that he doesn't want the girl to take it too hard and not to take it to heart, or be devastated.

Phil rocks!!!!!

"The old days are gone And they're better left alone But I still miss you I keep it to myself" the best part of this whole song. the rest is awesome too.

About how the only certainty in life is change and how the inability to accept it often leads to relationships failing... whether it's people in a love affair breaking up, or a band evolving their sound, song-writing methods etc and an element of their fanbase not being able to accept it.

Sometimes it's no possible to NOT take it all too hard, or to heart. Which I didn't know he said both either!
