I think Blue has this song completely wrong. The singer is still with this girl, who doesn't know exactly who he can be. There is a killer lurking inside of him, something terrible just below the surface that he knows is there, but she thinks he's a better person than he really is. While she believes that he can do better than her, and he wants to believe that he's becoming the man she thinks he is, he knows she is wrong.

My Interpretation
I believe it is about a guy who is in deep with a girl and has a very deep dark nature he really hopes she neve sees and hope he never reveals but he knows he is very capable of killing her is he were to find out she were being unfaithful. He therefore prays she is faithful to him and is careful not dissapoint or anger him or else he knows that he could potentially kill her.
