Through arcades where shimmering snowfall
Lay in state with the sad and damned
A rent lament barely flung above a whisper
Drew Me like a ghost to the haunts of Man

I Found Her tempting fate between Her wrist and razor
A kindred spirit in a graveyard
Beneath the stature of a colder Saviour
Mist hung like thieves wreathed in scant arabesques
And through the chill earth it bedwed Her drawling breast
Like a come dream true under etched glass spent
Making love to the beautiful dead

She has sinned and severed Heaven
And in it's vulgar sight
Two figures writhe, but one silhouette
Extends it's fingers to the light

"Gothic towers tottered on Her heels
As She fled asylum grounds
Committing hard crimes to soft cells
Where now another's screams resound"

From the gaspings in Her passing
Six feet under or beneath frayed gown
When Her hands pointed to midnight
In a white stained chamber bound

I Swept Her from the abyss of another dementia
Freeing Her soul from the fetters of fate
To take the reins of pleasure
Now nightwane mirrors freeze in seizure
At the glimpse of charmed pins in Her thighs
Ballrooms filled with black cats scratch
Out of spite and playful eyes

Pricked as a Witch Her stitches itch
For familiar lips to lick them dry
Whilst the dark regrasps, for if She asks
The Sun forsakes the right to rise
And is the first to discern, that this Angel's return
Is a vengefull call on grace
For even martyrdom backs from it's suicide pacts
A leap of twisted fate betrayed

The scars will last until the stars
Caught in Her train bewitched
Fall into line and yield the sign
That Dawn in born to their eclipse

For Our In humankind
Comes an underdog day Sunrise
Rippling with fire llike femaledition

Iplintered Her coffin and lay on the floor
Of a vault with Her clasped as the moon hugs the shore
What treachery this that She breathed no more?
Christ you bastard!

I wished Her back but the dead adored Her
Even wild winds sang in chora for Her
Saffron from my heart, from the start I swore
We'd be together more

Creation froze with the triumph of Death
But still She stirred and awoke bereft
Of concern save for the aeons left
To lead the darkness

She schemes of growing power and the lengths sucked hard to get it
I dream of being God but ever living to regret it
Our fecund nature decrees that Jesus wept come for
The Devil on Her knees

To grant Her lows a remedy
And mine desire's wish
To taste thereof of Heaven's scent
As sick and twisted as it is
For Her corset laced with arsenic
Hides snake curves within Her midst
Whilst Her halo of white lies supplies
Her temple to what God forbids.

to me i think this is about love and necrophilia. like how he loved his girlfriend or wife or something so much, then even tho she died he goes to her grave under moonlight and has sex with his dead girlfriend.

this is definately my favorite cradle song, it sounds so desperate, and it's so well mixed. not to mention all the rad tempo changes. too bad they don't have a disc better than midian.

I think it's like this: 'I Found Her tempting fate between Her wrist and razor...' his girlfriend tried to kill herself. 'She has sinned and severed Heaven' she slit her wrists. 'Gothic towers tottered on her heels as she fled asylum grounds' I dunno what this is but I think it's a flashback. His girlfriend was mental, and in a mental home. She fled and tried to kill herself. She dies and he's mourning and mourning and blames god and Christ. Yus, that's what I think. Urm, with the dog thing, he's scared she's gone to hell??? Well, yus. Cya!

This song has nothing to do with necrophilia. It is about the mentioned woman getting possessed by the Devil ["When in her mind She sought His leave / And begged forgiveness"] and that is why she tries to kill herself. Because she was been overwhelmed with evilness, she "has sinned and severed Heaven." The "colder savior" is talking about how God was cold, letting such an innocent woman get possessed by Satan. "Pricked as a Witch" means that because of her being possessed, she is considered a Witch, as if she sold her soul to the Devil, as was supposed back then. In the end, she is killed, and the narrator "splintered her coffin and lay on the floor" and because she no longer is possesssed, but dead, he curses and calls Christ a bastard for lack of salvation of her soul. But, it turns out that she is NOT dead, as after aeons she awakes again and has still some evil in her [Whilst Her halo of white lies supplies / Her temple to what God forbids].

Does anyone know what he says in the song between 'Rippling with fire like femaledition' and 'I splintered her coffin...'?? it isnt written anywhere in the lyrics. even in the cd case.

Sure. "I splintered her coffin and lay on the shore, on the vault with the clasp while the moon hugs the shore." Around 4 mins and 10 seconds into the song.

He finds his girlfriend slits her wrists, dead. Describes how fated they were, and the obstacles in front of them. Wants her back, and his wanting of her is haunting him.

This could have been my favorite song of all time if they just ended the damned song at 5 minutes while going back to the prior riff. Still a kickass song nonethelss.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Another Love
Tom Odell
I think the meaning is pretty clear. This person got really burned in a previous relationship, and because of this is unable to love and show care in his present one, even though he so badly wants to. It's lovely song, and very sad. You can really feel how defeated and frustrated he is with himself.

Somewhere Only We Know
Keane
Per the FAQ on Keane's website, Keane's drummer Richard Hughes, stated the following: "We've been asked whether "Somewhere Only We Know" is about a specific place, and Tim has been saying that, for him, or us as individuals, it might be about a geographical space, or a feeling; it can mean something individual to each person, and they can interpret it to a memory of theirs... It's perhaps more of a theme rather than a specific message... Feelings that may be universal, without necessarily being totally specific to us, or a place, or a time..." With the nostalgic sentiment and the overall tone of the song, I think Keane is attempting to express a Portuguese term known as 'saudade', which does not have a direct English translation but roughly means "that which we remember because it is gone."
