Even a man who is pure in the heart
And speaks in prayer by night
May become a wolf when the wolf's bane blooms
And the winter moon is bright"

Listen to them
The children of the night
What sweet music they make

Iniquitous
I share Carmilla's mask
A gaunt mephitic voyeur
On the black side of the glass
Peering through the mirror
Deep dark and ominous
Consorting themes, demons I weave
Subservience from thee to lost

I am Corinthian light
A snake in flowers by night
The last temptation of Christ
Evil in mortal...

Disguise the guilt
Sharp-eyed, impassive whore
Burn the asafoetida
and rank petriachor
Lure me panthered Faustia
With cunt and veiled womb
To prowl thy inner sanctum walls
In Tirgoviste to resume
Control

Seduction, my obsessive art
A pantheon of tragedies inscribed upon the stars
Like thistled ruin, garbed around thy heart
Bacchanal Cinderella, desirious midnight passed
Leaving thee as sacrifice asleep within my arms
'Midst dreams od robed redemption versed in sexual aftermath
When we ebb as tides together, carnal souls entwined
And orgasms expire, come puppet wires and the blind
(Purge)
Fires work in me
A lithe supremacy
I tear asunder heaven as I would all enemies
Impaler Lord
Flesh upon the sword
My lower lusts are sated, the greater herald war

I am thirst, spearheaded hunger
Sacrament and pain
Nails raked in savagery
When the cruel Countessa came

Exalt!
The Queen of death-white winter enthroned
Evil resplendent, in dusk red seething skies
Foam-flecked nightmares drag a moon
Of Draconian design

A love that never dies
Nefarious silhouettes to rise

When stars fall pale
And to drown back in Her eyes
Is to madden ghosts within
To unhinge a thousand sins
From Death's dark vale

"Blessed be these spells of winter
Unto us that wait with patience in
This secret garden
To storm our way into another
As yes undone"

(Surge)

Desert claims Eden
And Hyperborean
Visions of Utopia are driven from the sun
Iconoclast
Before thee angels clasped
In nakedness their ochre flesh
Shall yield to thy advance

She is all to me
Mysterious, alive
The howling in the deep woods
When cold festal stars aligned

A lurid moon looms; phosphorent, evil
Yesod vested in despotic upheaval
Silvering wolves that scarlet forest snow
Forgotten ones ebter as above, so below

The trees groan aghast as ghostly pallored clouds are rent
When the drunken earth heaves, sweep aside seas to ascend
From Sheol's dank haunted wilderness
Thy seal upon Nuit's starry vault to incense the sleepers,
dead

Queen of Winter, throned
The murderess lurked in vulgar caresses
Vestal masturbation
(Purity) Overthrown

Darkness
In raven feathered dress
Sides with Death at chess
Their pawns are many and the enemy
Powerless
When the miscreants fell dead
She took to conjuring spells in the cusp of the night
And the bestial floor shook with terrible life
I rise before thee Queen
To feed our lusts on the blood of the weak
To rule heaven and worlds crawling beneath
Satanic Tyranny

Queen Jadis, The White Witch is a jinn/giant from the city of Charn, which was part of a dying world. She is also the self-proclaimed queen of Narnia, her reason being that she is part human, knowingly untrue. Ruling with an iron fist, she had placed a spell on Narnia so that it is forever winter but never Christmas. She frequently turns to stone those she believes traitors. Her magic wand can turn people and animals to stone. The White Witch's only fear is of the prophecy that tells of "two sons of Adam" and "two daughters of Eve" who will come to Narnia and ally with Aslan to overthrow her. (She is first shown in The Magician's Nephew.)

It could be Queen of Winter, Beira it could be about the Norse Goddess Skadi or it could be a metaphor about a cold, malicious and beautiful woman. The sound at this beginning and 'A Dream of Wolves in Snow' suggests it has a Nordic connection and a winter themed one at that. It could be just about any dark feminine character or even allegorical to characters he already uses. Perhaps an almalgamation. But his own pictorial on her.

Or read Chronicles of Narnia, haven't in 10 years. The evil winter witch resembles the lyrics. But remember the songs are complex so it may just be about nothing. :)

I love Cradle of Filth lyrical content. Makes you think what’s the meaning behind the songs. Even though people are toying the idea that “Queen of Winter Throned” is based of Chronicles of Narnia, sadly to disappoint y’all but the song has nothing to with Narnia. I’ll explain. There is a lot of Greek mythology in Queen of Winter Throned. “Of Draconian design” is talking about Greek law that was made by Draco, Athens first recorded legislator who replaced oral code and blood feuds with written code that can only be enforced by court of law, basically Draconian law. Hyperborean is a mythical race of giants who lived "beyond the North Wind". The Greeks thought that Boreas, the god of the North Wind lived in Thrace, and therefore Hyperborea indicates that is Thrace. Bacchanal are festivals that was held for the Greco-Roman god of wine, freedom, intoxication and ecstasy, Bacchus. Even though Chronicles of Narnia Ice Queen might be idea, Cradle of Filth first three albums surrounds by vampire history, myths and legends. Since the Ice Queen is not a vampire and more of a evil ruler, she has to be ruled out. I think “Queen of Winter Throned” is based in from of either Carmilla or Elizabeth Bathory. There’s few similarities between the two, such as high status and affection for women. But a lot of differences. Elizabeth is real Countess and Carmilla is fictional. But I doubt it’s about Elizabeth considering that the book Carmilla was published two centuries after Bathorys death. So I believe “I shared Carmillas mask” is definitely a female vampire of sort. The word panthered comes from Carmilla animal figure of a mysterious black cat. So, the character is able to change into a panther or similar cat. Also, there some content in the lyrics of Hebrew and Jewish. Sheol ( She’ol in Hebrew bible) is a place of darkness to which all the dead go, both the righteous and the unrighteous, regardless of the moral choices made in life, a place of stillness and darkness cut off from life and from God. So, the character is about a female of high status who comes from Hebrew-Jewish desent but loses her purity (“purity, overthrown”) through masturbation (“Vestal masturbation”) and made a pact with Satan (“Satanic Tyranny”) to give her the throne and who has a lover, rather it’s a man or a woman. The song is through the lovers point of view since towards the end “I rise before the Queen” made it obvious. I hope this helps to understand the meaning of the song.

To be totally honest I laughed so so hard when I first heard this song. The tears were literally streaming down my face as I fell to the floor... Then I listened to it again, and again and again. I watched this Anime called Vampire Hunter D : Bloodlust whilst listening to this song and it really fit the mood. Now when I play computer games I play it when I'm shooting things.
